Today’s Suggested Reading: Matthew, Chapters 1 & 2

THE PREGNANT VIRGIN!

Key Verse: 739 B.C. Isaiah – Quoted in Matthew 1:23

Behold a Virgin shall be with child and bear a Son and they shall call His Name “Immanuel” translated, “God with us.
*God was with Joseph who was instructed to marry Mary.

*God was with the Wise Men who were told to bypass King Herod.
*God was with Mary and Joseph when they were told to seek refuge in Egypt.

The Nativity Church in Bethlehem built over the grotto where Jesus was born On the ceilings hang Chandeliers and on the walls are fragments of mosaic. This building is the oldest standing church in the Holy Land. Originally built by Constantine's mother in the 4th century, Emperor Justinian rebuilt the current structure in the 530s. It was apparently spared destruction from the Persians in 614 A.D. because the invaders saw the depictions of the Magi on the walls. Local Muslim-Christian friendship is believed to be why the church was not destroyed during al-Hakim's rule in 1009. The trapdoors in the floor reveal 4th-century floor mosaics from the Constantinian church.

When all is well, it’s easy to believe “God with us”. When there’s trouble, believe with child-like faith. Whether you feel it or not, IT’S A FACT!!! God is consistent. He’s IMMANUEL!!!

Quote:

I am with you always.” – JESUS (Matt. 28:20)

Abide in me and I in you.” – JESUS (John 15:4)

I will never leave you.” GOD (Heb 13:5)

100 (plus a few more, this time) Words from David Mainse:

Why 100?? That number says to me “Immanuel”. I had been hosting a TV show called “Crossroads” from 1962 to 1977 when I saw the building at 100 Huntley Street in Toronto. The sun was glinting off the stainless steel street number 100. Suddenly, I knew why (over the preceding weeks) when I would open my Bible at random, my eyes would fall on the number 100. E.g. 100 fold in Jesus’ parable of the sower, or the 100th verse of the 119th Psalm. Even page 100 in my Bible would show up. I knew that it was time to move from the weekly show to daily. My wife Norma-Jean was the producer of “Crossroads” and it took me several days before I ventured to tell her that I wanted to name the new show after the address of the studio in downtown Toronto. Now over 9000 daily shows later, and at least 17,000 personal stories proving God is with His people, I could never doubt that He is “Immanuel”. Over 9,000,000 calls have come through to the 24/7 prayer lines. Millions of these have personally experienced “Immanuel”. You can too. Here’s a prayer for today:

“I thank You God that you are with me always. Please forgive me for my sin and wrong that I have done. I give my life to you for always. I pray this in Jesus Name. Amen!”

NOW, please tell someone about your prayer. Call toll-free in Canada and the U.S. at 1-866-273-4444 or email us at davidmainse@crossroads.ca

Congratulations on your new blog. I too have an affinity to the number 100. I wonder where it came from. I find myself shooting photos in different cities around the world wherever I see that number. It my way of thanking God and giving witness to his wonderful work through the daily telecast of 100 Huntley Street.
Blessings to you on all your efforts for the sake of the Kingdom

  3. I have been watching 100 Huntley Street from the beginning. We were married the summer of 1977 and that’s what kept me going and giving me the encouragement l needed being a new wife and being far from my family. We love you and Norma Jean and are praying for you. We want to thank you for the love and Godly example you have been to us and many others.

  4. Hi David,
I’ve grown up watching you and your family on 100 Hundrend Street. My parents have faithfully watched and supported this ministry from the time our local station (Red Deer, Alberta) carried it to our television. When I grew up and got married I began watching you for myself and have been blessed so many times through this ministry. I remember, as a new young Mom of my first child, watching Lorne Shepard encourage us on how to love our children. I remember that particular show as the first time I was really ministered to as a young adult. David, I have never personally met you, but I love you and thank God for you. I pray for his blessing on you and your family. For strength and health to continue and live complete all the days He has for you. Along with this blog, I am using my Dad’s (he lives in heaven now) Day Unto Day Two Year Journey Through the Bible series you co-wrote, back in the early 80’s, with Jim and Kathy and Nizar and Ellen. Thankyou for your faithfulness and your love. May you be richly blessed.

  5. David,
I am excited to take this journey with you. Just recently I have begun to watch 100 Huntley Street because I felt that there was something missing in my life. I was raised with the Lord Jesus Christ and attended church every week, but over the years our family grew apart from the church. I really feel that I have missed out by not having a close relationship with Jesus. I am desperate to have him in my life. I thank you for this opportunity.

  6. Hello David-
As a supporter of Cross Roads Communications for a couple of years now I am so thrilled to be able to join you and others on this new adventure God planted in your heart.
I live in a remote northern community and do not have a local church available or brothers and sisters in the Lord in which to share fellowship but like many others I’m sure, 100 Huntley Street has been like a family to me.
I look forward to reading the Scripture right along with you and learning more about our blessed Lord Jesus…thank-you for doing this!
May the Lord bless you in this endeavour-

  7. Thank you David for blessing us with a daily walk through the bible blog. I’m already enjoying it! God is with us indeed! He never leaves us nor forsakes us! God bless you David and Norma Jean. I am praying for you! Diane

  8. Hi David;
I don’t usually post a comment on anything, but I felt a need to let you know how happy it makes me to see your faith and strength. I read a passage from the word of God everyday. I am working my way through the Bible for the third time and I find new life’s lessons each time. Although I am not very good at memorizing where verses are in the Bible, I am sure God speaks to me through his word. On my days off I love to watch 100 Huntley Street and now I will look forward to your blog. Thank you again.

  9. Dear David,
Congratulations on your new blog! I look forward to reading it each day. You have such a genuine Christian spirit and I thank God for Crossroads and the wonderful works you have done for Christ. Our prayers are also with you each day for strength and healing. God bless you, David, and keep you in His tender loving care.
    In Christ,
    Susan

  10. I have been following along with you since 1977 when I first met the Lord, and found your TV program. You have much more to share with us and I pray blessings upon this 2 year journey.

  11. Hi David, I have only “discovered” 100 Huntley Street in the last year but I love the show, and watch it almost every morning. I’ve often wondered where the name of the show came from, as I know it’s not the address of the Crossroads Centre. Thank you! Now I know. I’m also looking forward to meeting the crew at the studio on July 9th when Moira interviews me about my recent book, “Voyage to the Other Side of Grief: Finding Joy in New Dreams.”

  12. Hi David:
I was teaching at the Bible College On the Tyendinaga Reserve near Deseronto Ontario and you came to visit & you were so loving to the native students. I appreciate the Lord’s compassion that moves through you. You are a blessing to the body of Christ. Congratulations on 50 yrs of ministry & God Bless your blog. We will keep you up in prayer for your health. God Bless Jerome & Sandra

  13. Thank u David for the vision that the Lord gave u.
I would not have made it through the last 2 years without the blessing of 100 Huntley St. I tape all the episodes and watch them later. I really enjoyed the new format today.
The picture of the church is thrilling to see. I understand that your son Reyonld took them all.
Thank u for standing in the gap for Canada and for being so obedient to God.
I will leave u with a poem that I wrote.
God’s promises are so precious and true
    They are unfailing,ongoing and timely
They flow constantly from the creator
To the creature; you and me
I reach out and graspe them
    Claspe them to my heart.
Hold onto them with all that is within me
    Search for them and suddenly
    They are there
Sitting in my lap, falling onto the floor
    All over in my life
    They surrond me
    I am loved!
    He is with me
    O Holy One
    What a promise u are
How precious and timely are your promises and
    How they fill my life
    They are sweeter than honey
How much I hunger for them
    And
    How freely u give them!
God Bless you and Norma Jean and your entire family:)
ps. I liked Matt: 4 vs 24 where it states that Jesus fame spread to Syria
I pray for my Christian brother’s and sister’s in the Middle East esp. the Coptic Christians in Egypt and Vicar in Baghdad. It would be so amazing to see revival in that region of the world.
    God Bless.
    Mellany

  14. I am new at this, yet felt this was a good thing to do,and plan to come on here in the evenings As I am a early bird and spend time with my Jesus for hours every morning reading HIS Word and journal since 1977.We lost our oldest son that year at age 27. And 100 Huntley has been Just what I needed at that time and brings joy into my life to this day. Thanks David for being there not only for me, but for the many that are in need of the Lord. I had cancer opp. 2010 and it never took the Joy of the Lord either. GOD Bless hope to see you here for many years.
