Key Verse: 2 Kings 12:2
Jehoash did what was right in the sight of the Lord all the days in which Jehoiada the priest instructed him.
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Lord Jesus, Your servant and apostle tells us, “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:1-2). That’s a tall order, Lord. It’s easy to pray every day for those I like, but I have a problem with some leaders. I know that these instructions are not optional. I am to love everyone! Therefore, I pray for a large dose of Your love and grace to fill my life 24/7. In Your all loving Name, Amen!
100 PERSONAL WORDS:
A number of years back, my granddaughter, Sarah Shaheen Stowell, who is on her father’s side Arab Israeli, called in to the Michael Coren show live prime time on CTS. She was 17 at the time and had just moved from Jerusalem to Canada. She told Michael, his guests and viewers that as a Christian she had just moved to Canada from Israel and that she knew that she should love all people, Jews included, but that it was hard to do that. She shared her views on the Israeli-Palestinian situation, and Michael said that hers was the most intelligent call he received throughout the show.
Today’s pictures tell the unusual story of Oskar Schindler, who saved the lives of many Jews during the Nazi reign of terror. His body was brought to Jerusalem and buried in a non-Jewish graveyard on the side of Mt. Zion. Every year, on the anniversary of his death, the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of those whose lives he saved gather at his grave for a memorial service to honour Oskar. As is the Jewish custom, they each place a stone in his memory. I’ve stood at his graveside several times and thanked God for people who are willing to risk their lives for others.
Yours for loving others, even if it’s extremely hard to do that with some. Why? Because Jesus told us that if we are to please God, we must do this, whether we like it or not! Check out Mark 12:28-34.
David
Oskar Schindler, we will never forget. Praying for you, dear David, and fellow saints. Blessings to all.
A psalm of David. The LORD said to my Lord, “Sit in the place of honor at my right hand until I humble your enemies, making them a footstool under your feet.”
Psalm 110:1 NLT
This has been strumming through my head all morning…

It is so interesting how the topics are picked for each day! I wonder how you do it David Mainse! It is truly amazing “grace” how God works in the world today and in the past! He brings the knowledge of Jesus Christ and His death and resurrection to all people today through various means, people, projects. It is amazing “grace” that God will never stop bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ as our Risen Lord and Saviour to the world! He will always provide the way, and again it will be through people telling the story to other people, one person at a time! Truly amazing “grace”.

Thank God for Oskar Schindler and for you dear Pastor David. I appreciate your blog today; what good admonition. Yes, may the Lord renew your strength David. Have a great day fellow saints!
What a great testimony Oskar Schindler left to his memory, praise God for more to be like him, and even more so “Oh to be like Jesus”!!
Thank you for your honesty re finding it difficult to pray for some that aren’t the easiest to pray for, for your humble spirit, Pastor David. I pray for a refreshing of your being this day in Jesus Christ Our Lord!
Thank you Reynold for the vivid photos!
Great chapters on Joash. The faithfulness of the priest who protected the young child who would be King. The inspiring King whose faithfulness to God change the course of Country.
How one Leader can effect change for good or ill.
Good word from David this morning. To pray for “ALL” – whether good or bad leaders. It inspires me to remember those leaders and nations that the West seem to have trouble with – Iran, Russia, North Korea. These days, it is important to pray for our leaders in Canada as we move towards our 150th year. Back to the early formation of Canada and the spiritual foundations. Praying for the USA in this time of turmoil, and especially for President Trump. That God will protect him. Help him to think of the the effects of his words before he speaks and help him and give him strength amidst all the turmoil…and help “truth” to rise to the top… “O God, pour out your spirit upon our nations. We need a great spiritual awakening, a fresh turning to
God. Cleanse my hands and heart. Fill me with our Holy Spirit. Let the God flow through my heart. Let the River of God’s grace flow throughout our Country, through every province, city and community. “Let God arise and His enemies be scattered. Let God, let God arise!” Through Jesus Christ our Lord and the Mighty Holy Spirit.
Praying for you David for ongoing rest, recovery and spiritual refreshing – along with peace, strength and endurance – all this for you – and for Norma-Jean. Blessings upon your whole family as you stand along side of each other.
