Key Verse: Numbers 7:1-3

Now it came to pass, when Moses had finished setting up the tabernacle, that he anointed it and consecrated it and all its furnishings, and the altar and all its utensils; so he anointed them and consecrated them. Then the leaders of Israel, the heads of their fathers’ houses, who were the leaders of the tribes and over those who were numbered, made an offering. And they brought their offering before the Lord, six covered carts and twelve oxen, a cart for every two of the leaders, and for each one an ox; and they presented them before the tabernacle.

Today’s reading may make us wonder as to why it’s here. It is so repetitive. The gifts which the leaders of the tribes present to God at the dedication of the Tabernacle are listed 12 times over. Could a reason be to show generosity? Could another reason be to teach the children what it means to take responsibility as the heads of households? God instructs parents to show leadership, teaching, not only in word, but by example. If we, as parents, are givers, chances are that our children will also be givers.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Dear Lord Jesus, You are the greatest Giver, and according to Your Word, You live in and through me. Please grant me the grace to channel Your Spirit of giving through me. In Your Name I pray. Amen!

100 PERSONAL WORDS:

Today is the USA election. PRAY!!!! If you are an American (my wife Norma-Jean is a dual citizen, Canada and the United States, and she already voted by following the online instructions)…VOTE!!!! I believe that the most grievous evil in God’s sight is the slaughter of the precious little lives still in the womb. We have a granddaughter who entered Brisbane Australia as newborn when her parents were employed at our Expo ’88 Pavilion there. She came 13 weeks early. Today she is a Children’s Pastor and has developed an amazing curriculum for 11-13 year-old girls. Every life matters! (click here for Rachelle’s ministry, Princess 911).  In Canada and the USA a little body like hers was at the time of her birth can be ripped apart in the womb by cruel instruments of death and even crueler people. The main question for us is, “Who will be most committed to protecting these amazing new lives?”

Yours for the great joy of living,

David

  5. Am thrilled to see Rachel’s magazine, was wondering would their be one you could recommend for the young boys, as I have a nephew, age 12. Was thinking of Ranger Rick, but would appreciate other recommendations.
Subject of voting: Each Christian individually needs to take the instruction from 2 Chronicles 7:13-15, there are many things we as Christians have to get back, eg. reciting the Lord’s prayer back into our classrooms.

    • AMEN Karen! Parents need to start praying in their homes, the Lord’s Prayer is a good prayer to start every day with as it covers every aspect of our lives! The first 4 lines honour our Lord God, the next lines teach us how to live and act! FORGIVE OUR TRESPASSES AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO TRESPASS AGAINST US!

May God’s Will be done in the USA today!

  6. Also praying for the elections today, and remembering that: “He rules the nations” Psalm 22:28, that includes the U.S as well as Canada!

  9. Looking at sheep in the picture…they seem to be so content…and at peace, without a care in the world, in the care of the Shepherd.

  10. please pray for Eva and Monica, for complete healing!
please pray for restoration of marriages that are being torn apart by selfishness, pray the Lord will intervene and speak clearly to the couples involved, bring them to the understanding of confessing their sins, and asking the Lord for His forgiveness and forgiving those who they feel has done them wrong! Only God can handle all this stress!
please pray for a couple having car troubles, while waiting for a mechanic they were arguing, I mentioned that God didn’t want them driving at this time but rather maybe they need to talk to one another, find out what the problems is, forgive each other and maybe their relationship will be strengthened and they can carry on in their lives! With God nothing is impossible!
