JESUS IS SEARCHING FOR YOU!

Today’s Reading: Matthew 13

Click scripture link to read online or HERE to listen online (then click the symbol of the audio speaker above the scripture portion).

Could Jesus have taught from this very boat? It’s 2,000 years old. This is a boat that was discovered about 20 years ago in the Sea of Galilee, when the water level was low. It is called “The Jesus Boat” because it is from the time of Christ. The vessel is 9 metres long, 2.5 metres wide and 1.25 metres high. It may have functioned as a ferry boat, but its measurements also suit those used by fisherman employing a dragnet that was “cast into the sea,” as described in Matthew 13:47-48.

Key Verse: Matthew 13:45-46

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.

There is nothing that can equal the value of the Kingdom of God. What could possibly be worth as much as the love of God, the sacrifice of Christ, the power of the Holy Spirit, and fellowship with the Heavenly Father? The merchant sold everything to acquire the “Pearl”…citizenship in God’s Kingdom. A Kingdom has a King, and our King is not a constitutional Monarch with no real authority. King Jesus is Lord over all. Complete obedience is a given. There are serious consequences to disobedience. The King has given laws such as, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind” and “Love your neighbour as yourself”…the two greatest commandments (Matthew 22:37-40).

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Your Majesty, thank You for allowing me to be constantly in Your presence. I honour You by the gift of everything I am and ever will be. I’m Yours! Your will is my command. Amen!

100 PERSONAL WORDS:

I’m sad to report that I have not obeyed the greatest of all the commandments most of the time. It’s that word “all” that does me in. That’s the reason I love to quote the most often repeated verse in the Bible…”His mercy endures forever.” King Jesus loves me as a father loves his child. He encourages me to start all over again every day. As I type this blog, I’m praying that today I’ll serve Him 100%. I’m fully aware that “All have sinned and come short of the Glory of God” (Romans 3:23). I’m also fully aware that as I ask forgiveness, the next verse kicks in…”Being justified freely by His Grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus” (Romans 3:24).

Your brother in the Grace of Christ,

David

P.S. I want to try my best to explain here today how to know that when you die you will go to Heaven. When I was a teenager, I decided to believe that Jesus was not lying when He said, “The one who comes to Me, I will never turn away” (John 6:37). Do you believe that? You can decide now to believe it too.

(1) There is a wall between you and God that Jesus will tear down and remove when you ask Him to. That wall is called “sin.”

(2) So I ask you to read this prayer (That means you are talking to God). Say it out loud if you are alone or if you are with someone who loves you. Believe the words you are saying! “Lord Jesus, You died for me on the cross so that all the sin and wrong I’ve ever done can be forgiven. You promised that when I pray such a prayer, the wall that separates me from You and Heaven is removed. God forgive me! I need You in my life for the present and for ever and ever in Heaven some day. I believe Your promise and therefore I invite You into my life and You will never, never turn me away. I am Yours, and You are mine for always! Thank You Father God! Thank You Jesus! Amen!!! I believe this! I know it’s true!!!”

Did you pray this prayer? Yes? Then it’s very important to tell another human being as soon as possible. If you are with someone else now, tell them! Or here’s another very helpful, easy way to do this. Call one of my prayer partners who are at the prayer telephones 24/7. It’s a free call. Please, please do it right away if possible. Here’s the telephone number to call: 1-866-273-4444. A caring non-judgmental person will answer your call and will help answer any questions you may have. You don’t have to give your name unless you want to, but if you do share your name and address, we’ll send you an important booklet that will help you in your new walk with the Lord. I’ll check with our prayer partners to read the notes they will take about your telephone call. You are the most important person in the world to God. This is why I care!

  1. You were paid at a price. Jesus loved us so very much that He was crucified on the cross and died for all of us. He miraculously took all of the sin of the world upon himself and died in our place, so that we might live. He atoned, he paid for our sin, He offered us grace because we would never be able to do this act of ‘exchange’ based on anything that we could do for ourselves. It took God, God in Christ to offer us this grace of having our sins paid and to offer us eternal life with Him forever. Now, as believers, we are fully justified and forgiven in Him, there is now nothing to fear, for death has no bondage over one who places faith in Christ. With our helper the Holy Spirit, we are now able to live freely in Him, no longer a slave to sin and all of it’s bondage. Satan has no dominion over a child of God. Yes we are children of the King, and co-heirs with Christ Jesus in this Kingdom forevermore. Hallelujah!

  2. Yes, Lord, we love You, our God with all our hearts, all our souls, and all our minds. And we love our neighbors as ourselves. We thank You for sowing the good seed in us, Jesus. We are Your Kingdom, here on earth, as it is in heaven. We thank You, God, for the harvester angels who will come at the end of the age to weed out the devil roots in our precious field of Your harvest. Amen, amen, and amen! Saints, I am under attack. Please pray for the pinched nerve in my neck. Blessings to all, in the precious Name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

“For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.”

    • Lord God I pray, that with Your Spiritual scissors you restore and replace the nerve in Beverlee’s neck into its rightful place; Greater are YOU LORD than he that is in the world. And I thank You Jesus You are able to do far above all that we ask, and I ask for the pinched nerve to be released and the pain to subside…Jesus in Your Mighty Holy Name I pray. Thank you…AMEN and AMEN!!

  3. Words Cannot Describe It

Have you ever felt pure love
As bright a light as anything
    You could ever imagine?
    So glaringly and gloriously vibrant,
You could not look at it?
    Words cannot describe it.

Have you ever felt pure love
So strong and surreal as that
    Of Jesus Christ, our Saviour?
    So amazingly true and beautiful,
    You are overwhelmed by weeping?
    Words cannot describe it.

Have you ever felt pure love
    The kind that literally takes
    Your precious breath away?
    And leaves you utterly speechless,
    You cannot grasp its entirety?
    Words cannot describe it.

Have you ever felt pure love
    The kind that creates miracles–
    Those that are everlasting?
The depth to which it magnifies,
    Is beyond comprehension?
    Words cannot describe it.

Have you ever felt pure love
The kind that speaks of eternity
Nestling in the arms of forgiveness?
In touching the face of Jesus,
    It simply cannot be fathomed?
    Words cannot describe it.

    • Worship: God’s Inward Necessity

So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.—Genesis 1:27

I believe that He created man out of no external necessity. I believe it was an internal necessity. God, being the God He was and is, and being infinitely perfect and infinitely beautiful and infinitely glorious and infinitely admirable and infinitely loving, out of His own inward necessity had to have some creature that was capable of admiring Him and loving Him and knowing Him. So God made man in His own image; in the image and likeness of God made He him; and He made him as near to being like Himself as it was possible for the creature to be like the Creator. The most godlike thing in the universe is the soul of man.

The reason God made man in His image was that he might appreciate God and admire and adore and worship; so that God might not be a picture, so to speak, hanging in a gallery with nobody looking at Him. He might not be a flower that no one could smell; He might not be a star that no one could see. God made somebody to smell that flower, the lily of the valley. He wanted someone to see that glorious image. He wanted someone to see the star, so He made us and in making us He made us to worship Him.
A.W. Tozer, Worship: The Missing Jewel, 3.

“What an incredible thought, Almighty God, that You desire and even in some sense need my worship! Be pleased this morning, Lord, as I do indeed smell the flower and see the star, as I ‘admire and adore and worship.’ Amen.”

-from Tozer on Christian Leadership – June 14, 2016

      • That You God, need our worship–how awesome! We worship You, with our utmost praise and adoration. Amen! Thanks for posting that Rob!

  4. Amen David! The scripture today is illustrated to me as I look out my window to a huge field of potatoes growing. Prayed your challenging prayer. Thanks anyway Beverlee but I have no difficulty accessing You Tube and putting it on Facebook as there is a link but none to 100words.ca. Now I see no link from 100words.ca to facebook that I saw before. Anyway, have a great day everyone!

  5. I have been missing 100words.ca 3 or 4 times in the past few weeks. I keep having to subscribe again. Just wondering if there is a problem.

  6. As I prayed the prayer with you Pastor David…the Song “Majesty” came to mind…and I praised HIM in song, as well!!

Have a blessed day in the Lord…all you saints! Rejoice in the Lord always!!

  7. Greetings David,
A friend forwarded to me the link to your blog, and it happened to be on the very same day you were beginning a new reading through the Bible in two years. I was so happy to be re-connected again and joining you in this daily reading of the Word! Let me explain a little more why I said that.
Many years ago, back in the fall of 1979, as a twenty-two- year-old single mother of two small children, dirt poor and desperately in need of help and hope, I found it at a Gordon Williams evangelistic meeting he was holding near my home town “Down East”. I had no idea at that time that Rev. Williams was a part of the then (fairly) new daily Christian television show, 100 Huntley Street. When I went forward for prayer at the end of that meeting, the Lord met me so powerfully and changed my life completely. I soon learned about your television program and as an eager new believer, I began looking forward to watching it every day. Truly, for me it was like Christmas morning all over again, every new day, to get up and start it by watching your program. Living in that little, out of the way rural village, the Lord used 100 Huntley Street mightily to encourage me in my new faith, helping me to feel truly connected to His amazing family all across the country, and all the powerful things He was doing in so many lives. I was so blessed and lifted up by seeing the enthusiasm and joy that you, Norma Jean and the rest of the Crossroads team exuded; the pure love of Jesus just flowed through each and every one of you. I especially loved it whenever Norma Jean and Bruce and Elaine sang. And of course I continued to see Rev. Williams as he was the one who wrapped up each show by presenting a re-cap of the Scripture verses for that particular day. Little did I know, though, that the Lord was not finished with this man playing a special part in my life! More on that later…
One very unforgettable blessing and highlight for me was to be able to join you in person at the culmination of your “Salute to Canada” tour in Charlottetown, PEI, on Canada Day, July 1, 1981.
Two years later, the Lord opened the door for me and my two children to move to southwestern Ontario to become part of a Christian missionary organization. Many years after that, He caused my husband and I to meet at a Sunday evening service on the ministry’s campus, and during the months of our engagement we often made a point to visit Gordon Williams’ church which he was pastoring in a city nearby at the time. By then I had learned that Gordon had also played an important part spiritually in my fiance’s life as well, having ministered to him at a men’s fellowship breakfast meeting about a year after he and his family had been through the tragic loss of his wife and oldest son in a car accident. When we met up with Gordon later and had the opportunity to personally share with him how he had been used in both of our lives, and that we were now engaged, he gave his signature hearty laugh, and asked us (to our delight), “When do I get to tie the knot?”
To end my little story off, on a hot June day in 1991, Rev. Gordon married us in a small outdoor wedding on our farm, and tomorrow we will be celebrating our Silver wedding anniversary! The Lord has blessed me so very much ever since I gave my life to him back in 1979, and 100 Huntley Street has played a large and very important part in it. I thank God that this powerful television ministry is continuing on today (even though we don’t have a TV and I don’t see it very often any more), and now I am so excited that He has re-connected me with your online blog and this new adventure of reading through the Bible with you in two years. I also thank God for how He is still using you in such a unique and far-reaching way, that He has extended your life beyond what the medical profession predicted, and you are still giving 100% of it to Him! God bless you and your family, David. I am going to thoroughly enjoy this journey with you over the next two years!

  8. Yes Lord Jesus I agree in prayer with Irene for the pinched nerve in Beverlee’s neck that she will be delivered of this and it will not bother her anymore in Jesus Name, Amen.

  9. To Samuel Fame suggest you contact your service provider and ask them what is going on, I have Shaw and they help sometimes; we pay forthe service and they should help us..

    blessings
