The Stoa of Attalos in Athens is recognized as one of the most impressive stoae (covered walkways) in the Athenian Agora (market place). It was built by and named after King Attalos II of Pergamon who ruled between 159 BC and 138 BC. It was rebuilt between 1953 and 1956.

Key Verse: Romans 10:12-13

For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

“Jew and Greek” could also be written, “Israeli and Gentile.” God has every right to choose His people. He chooses all those He knows in His foreknowledge will call on His Name! We may want to ask God for the same deep concern Paul experienced for his people, according to the flesh, the Jewish people. Paul had great sorrow and continual grief in his heart for Israel. He longed for their salvation. He showed the depth of his intercession when he was willing, if necessary, to be separated from God in order that they might be saved. This kind of prayer, and Paul’s continued witness for Christ, resulted in many more thousands of Jews becoming believers in Jesus. For at least the first 100 years, the core and leadership of the Christian Church was Jewish. God responds with strong initiatives to bring people to Himself when we pray as Paul prayed. The promise of our key verse happens over and over and over again. On the 100 Huntley Street telecast the hosts try to give at least two invitations to call on the Name of the Lord Jesus in every hour. That’s approximately seven invitations every day, mainly on “YES TV” (click here to watch 100 Huntley Street).

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Lord Jesus, as Your disciples asked You, even so I ask You the same: “Lord, teach us to pray.” Not just the words to say, but to actually do my praying with greater fervency than ever before. In Your strong Name I pray. Amen! Amen! Amen! Amen! You promise, Lord Jesus, through Your brother, Jerusalem Pastor James, that “The fervent effectual prayer of a righteous man (or woman) will avail much” (James 5:16b). Read James 5:13-20.

100 PERSONAL WORDS:

In my prayer life, it’s a fact that the more fervently I’ve prayed, getting up earlier and earlier in the morning to cry out to God, the more of God’s will I saw happen. I’m constantly reminded that the Lord is “not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9b). The obvious fact is that the greater my level of fervency, the greater creative means of presenting the Good New of Jesus are found, and the more people come to Christ. For example, over 60% of all information people receive now comes from the Internet. Where did the idea for a 7-channel world-wide Internet TV ministry come from? I’m sure it was from the heart of God through the Crossroads leadership team. Not only will these channels carry thousands of the most powerful 100 Huntley Street telecasts from the past, but exciting new material is being added daily as God’s people pray and give sacrificially. I know I’ve mentioned this before, but I encourage you to check it out again at crossroads360.com, type a topic into the search bar, and send links to those you know who could benefit from a particular testimony or message. As a 78-year-old Evangelist, I can hardly believe that many of my messages and interviews from the past are now present, and will continue to be there, God willing, into the future. As an example, here is an interview I did years ago with George Foreman, the only person to win twice the world’s heavyweight boxing championship  — click here.

Yours for the whole world to be saturated with messages from the heart of Jesus!

David

  1. Thank you, David, for the George Foreman video. Praise God!

Crying out on my hands and knees, very early this morning, to You, dear Lord. Lord, I ask for Your help, in Jesus precious name. I thank You for all the blessings You have afforded me, for which I am so grateful, Lord! You know my immediate needs for which I am praying. I ask for You to bring everything into place and fruition for me, Lord. With a thankful heart and utmost praise and worship to You. Amen, amen, and amen.

Everyone that asketh receiveth. Matthew 7:8

Ask and it will be given you. Be more bold in your asking, My child, for I take pleasure in granting the requests of My children. Asking is a way of expressing your faith in Me and in My goodwill toward you. Take your eyes off the “impossibilities” of circumstances, and ask for what I put in your heart to ask. The process is vital to your maturing and deepening in faith. Make a record of the big and small things you pray for, so that you will know the surety of what I am saying to you. Ask and believe!

Blessings, dear saints, on this precious Sunday!

  2. Paul was certainly a man of great faith with justification.
I often wonder what happens to people who live so isolated in the jungles of the world or wherever, and have never heard of God’s word. Have seen some tv shows where people have been discovered who were not known to the world.
Thank u Rev. M. for the George Foreman video.
    God bless.

  3. Beverlee thank you for reminding me to keep asking pastor Filsingor asked
everyone who has a need to come up front and we claimed it.

    • We cast out the seizures that take hold of you, Lianne, and proclaim that your health and wellness be restored, in the mighty name of Jesus! Amen!

  4. Praise God! I enjoyed your message on prayer, David and prayed your prayer. Also your blog as well Beverlee. That is my focus for the new year and reading the Word.

  5. A wonderful read today. I do wonder how many churches actually follow James instruction to anoint the sick with oil (after calling the elders). My experience is that they do not. My husband and I went to your healing services, David, in the summer, but at that time we did not know my husband had cancer. I was facing surgery. I was anointed at the services and felt the touch of the Lord. My husband also went forward, but he probably asked for prayer for me. When we found out about his cancer, we visited family members and their churches and we asked for prayer. I, again, was unexpectedly touched by God but no anointing with oil was used for my husband. I was surprised to realize that. I believe now, that God was preparing me for his passing. He passed Dec. 27. I know he is with the Lord. Hallelujah! We will meet again.

  7. Thank you Rev. David for that link with George Foreman…what a Great testimony of salvation!!!

God is no respecter of persons, both Jew and Gentile have the same privilege to receive God’s promise for eternal life…Lord God your word tells us that your desire is that none should perish but have eternal life in Christ Jesus. May it be so Lord!!!

  8. Beginning this evening and the next two evening, my church family is praying and fasting for the Nation of Canada … for God’s intervention in the lives of families and marriages, for our children, for salvation of souls.

  9. people misunderstand cannibus! the chemical that causes the highs is completely removed and what is left is the good medicine and it sure does alot for many, many aliments, it is excellent for cancer, it has completely healed and it removes the pain, it is very good for seizures, it’s a political scene that is caught up in having this medicine more readily available up front instead having to use the back door! the presssure is on and I do hope that doctors will get the proper training so they can prescribe it to their patients…dr. Oz had a very good program and it explained many aspects of cannibus….as usual it is the wee hours of the morning and everyone is sleeping and I’ll go to sleep when everyhone is waking! I do laugh about it because God knows what is going on! HAVE A GREAT DAY!
