IT’S HARVEST TIME

Suggested Reading: Matthew 9

Key Verse: Matthew 9:37-38 (NKJV)

Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

A grain field on the North shore of the Sea of Galilee.

“CAUTION!” This prayer will change you, your family, your income, your giving, your friends, your church, the use of your time, your character your personality and everything about you. As soon as you offer that prayer, you become the answer. You are now called to be a laborer. Please read Isaiah 6:1-8. If you confess that “Jesus Christ is Lord,” you have only one answer, “Here am I, send me!” Never sit around waiting for God to push and pull you into service. Your free will controls the gas pedal and the brakes. Push the “Pedal to the metal” and GO FOR IT!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Lord, I am making decisions, please guide me. I believe that the decisions are from You. Now I will initiate action as Your laborer. Amen!

100 PERSONAL WORDS:

My Dad served as a Missionary (21 years in Egypt), an Educator, and a Pastor. My DNA is serving Jesus. At 16 Jesus’ laborers surrounded me at school and at my part time job. I made the decision to give my life to Christ in December. The following June I had a powerful encounter with the Holy Spirit and in August at a Youth Camp I prayed, “Lord Jesus, I would like to serve you full time for my entire life. Would you you please give me a clear call into pastoral service and as an Evangelist.” He did and I have “pushed the pedal to the metal” since that time.

Your fellow labourer in the harvest,

David

P.S. Due to a technical error, yesterday’s blog was posted at 10:00am in stead of 6:00am. Sorry about that!

  1. Wow! That’s a challenging blog David. One that stirs the spirit to action! Perhaps we need less philosophers and pew warmers in the church and more pragmatists and those of a spirit-filled, willing heart called into action. My prayer is that many will seek out their gifts of Christian ministry, get plugged-in and serve. Do you have the willingness to follow Jesus and to serve Him today?

  2. Thank you Brother David, for posting these daily blogs, they are truly a blessing to me. . God Bless You and Norma Jean.

  3. Thats a great blog for Sunday People seem to forget what Jesus is asking of his disciples. This world we live in is a mess Is there any doubt about that now? The education system in North America and around the world is in need of reform The schools should have a wisdom life lesson class starting at a very young age all the way to grade 12 and beyond lessons on Life , wisdom , bullying , pregnancy , preparation for life and the proper and successful way to approach life based on biblical principles for ex) marriage , giving , every kid should be trained to change the world around them The education system should be producing moral champions on a factory assembly line and in turn changing the world in a positive way for the next gen. This is why action among believers is very important and why i love todays blog. This is just a start This class should be mandatory in schools Also We live in a blessed Country what about these kids dying over seas because of lack of food and water as a Christian i cant help but feel ashamed of lack of unity among the churches and the amout of blame thats going on too many excuses and not enough action Well done David i see a change at One Hundred Huntley Street in a positive direction Well done I love you all and i see true Christians and overcomers Well done Well done Don

  4. My prayer to God is
I lift up my life to you , use me take me where you want me to go and
show me what you want me to do

    amen

This is a challenge David I say it every day

  5. So glad you ‘pushed the pedal to the metal’ David, and kept it there, never hesitating for a minute all these past years and still are going strong! Thank you for the inspiration and blessing you have been and still are.

Some ‘pedal to the metal’ service is more quieter and behind the scenes and less ‘public’ then you have had, but that is also needed too, and can be just as beneficial and rewarding in the sowing and watering.

I pray daily to be used and led by Him.

  6. I have made a commitment to really follow through with getting to know the Bible in a greater way – and these daily devotionals are just what I needed! I just recently started watching 100 Huntley Street and already I am seeing Jesus pop up in my life in different ways. Now the call to be a labourer has been brought forward to me very clearly, and I see that I need to be ready to do whatever Jesus may ask of me. I am nervous and excited all at the same time; however I know that I can trust in our Lord.

  7. PASTOR DAVID,
I WAS AMAZED THAT THE FIRST SCRIPTURE I READ WAS THE CALL TO BE A ” SPIRITUAL LABOURER ” . I AM PRAYING THAT IN MY LIMITED CAPACITY THAT ANYONE I COME IN CONTACT WITH WILL BE ATTRACTED TO THE ” SALT AND LIGHT ” FROM WITHIN ME . I LIKE WHAT ST. FRANCIS SAID , ” WHEREVER YOU ARE , WHEREVER YOU GO , PREACH THE WORD OF GOD IN SEASON AND OUT OF SEASON AND, WHEN YOU ARE DESPERATE , USE WORDS .”
WE HAVE TO BE A WITNESS BY OUR INTEGRITY, OUR LOVE AND CHARACTER . THAT WILL ATTRACT THE UNSAVED TO HEAR THE MESSAGE OF JESUS ‘ TRUTH !

  8. I love the story of the Good news! As children of a loving, Heavenly Father, our divine birthright is happiness and we get to express the full joy of living. Each step in life’s pathway is rich, joyous and we may cultivate happiness NOW. It has all been bought and paid for. Thank you, Jesus! Unique is the pleasure found in the present. “My brothers and sisters whenever you face trials of any kind, consider it nothing but joy”– James 1:2

  9. This blog has me feeling impatient! Hahaha! Or maybe a better word would be ‘inspired.’ Sometimes I feel like I’m running in quicksand, wanting to ‘get a move on’ and serve Jesus. But then, the fact of the matter is, it just might be necessary for me to serve wholeheartedly from behind a counter, bringing spiritual encounters to people who never expect it, before I get to go off and do ‘the more.’ Even bringing the love of Jesus to family is service to God. Still….God knows I need to get going to the interesting places. He made me this way! You rock David, age will never take away your ‘awesome factor.’ 🙂
