Suggesting Reading: Matthew 5

Key Verse: Matthew 5:44 (NKJV)

“But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.”

BELOVED ENEMY

Mount of Beatitudes

“Love and Enemy” don’t fit together. Sue and be sued! Get even! Jesus makes a demand which is humanly impossible. In verse 39, Jesus tells us that “Whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.” Yesterday, at a meeting of our Crossroads U.S.A. Board, Rev. Albert Vaters, commented on John 15:5, “Without Me you can do NOTHING.” He said that no matter how hard we try on our own, it is worth zero. But, he assured us that “With God NOTHING will be IMPOSSIBLE.”

Jesus, the true revolutionary, is “LOVE.” This is His D.N.A.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Lord Jesus, I invite you to live in me. Only you have lived 100% the words you taught us. I give myself to you. Because of you, living in me, “NOTHING shall be IMPOSSIBLE.”

Amen!

100 PERSONAL WORDS FROM DAVID MAINSE:

It has never been hard for me to pray the prayer that Jesus said would make me right with God, “God be merciful to me, a sinner.” (Luke 18:13). The word “Sin” originates as an archery term. It means, missing the target. My aim, my focus, my prayer, to be like Jesus. Most of the time I miss the bulls eye, but there are times when I am conscious that Jesus in me is helping me to hit the mark.

One day I met with Gord at he W.M.C.A. His face was buried in a paper bag. He was sniffing glue. He lifted his head just long enough to spit in my face. Amazingly I felt nothing but love for Gord. I’m 100% sure that was not just me. Jesus was living and loving from within.

In Christ’s love and service,

David Mainse

  1. David, I pray that the Lord sustains us with His grace so that we may have the strength to stand with Him in our times of trial or when we are tempted to sin.

  4. Dear David,

I praise God for you and thank you for your leading. Thank you for your example of being a servant of the living God and His Christ. May God sustain you in this journey of sharing with God’s people and for those beginning the journey. It is such a blessing for the constant reminder and the practical way in which you are enabling us to be immersed in God’s word and in prayer with you. May God continue to fill you with His Spirit and guide your life and that of your ministry.

    In His love,
    Sandra

  5. Amen….Every time I try to control my life, my own way, I fail misreably. For the last 4 years, I learned to leave it up to God to take charge of my life for a very serious tribulation in my life, I trust God fully to turn it for my good, at least to glorify his name, knowing he only matters. But for the last month, I decided to control a very small aspect of my life, myself, my way…and oh boy did I faill miserably, and felt anxious and restless…I prayed long and hard to to leave it up to God and to trust him, on this small non-serious aspect of my life…I finally got back my peace, and I again trust God. God should be in control and not me… what a relief! “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding” Proverb 3:5

  6. This story once again is a testimony to God’s faithfulness through the power of Love.(Love for God, and Love for Gord)! The only fact of this situation is the perfection of God and the perfection of man by God’s grace. Jesus on occasion took spit to open the eyes of a blind man. Knowing the indwelling Christ as our perfection, may God use this testimony to be a blessing to all that many eyes be opened. “Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32.

  7. Yes….I wonder how far we should go with this…..is war necessary….why not just pray for all those who are trying to harm us….Jesus did not harm anyone…but He prayed much

  8. Walk in the spirit ALWAYS and we will not fullfill the lust of our flesh. Thank-you for your ministry. It has helped me walk closer to my lord. Praying for God’s strength for you each day.

I tell my brother I now get my ‘ GOD’ in every day thanks to you…PS..I love my book ‘Greatest Words Ever Spoken..I finally can understand abit of the bible..Thank you!!!
