“I WILL” – GOD

Today’s Reading: Ezekiel 20

Click scripture link to read online or HERE to listen online (then click the symbol of the audio speaker above the scripture portion).

This is a model of the Temple as it may have looked in ancient times.

Key Verse: Ezekiel 20:5

Say to them, “Thus says the Lord God: ‘On the day when I chose Israel and raised My hand in an oath to the descendants of the house of Jacob, and made Myself known to them in the land of Egypt, I raised My hand in an oath to them, saying, “I am the Lord your God.”‘”

Four times here in chapter 20 God speaks through the Prophet Ezekiel saying that judgment is held back, “For My Name’s sake, that it should not be profaned before the Gentiles” (verses 9, 14, 22, 44). The writer of the most detailed of the Bible commentaries, Matthew Henry (1662-1714), writes, “When nothing in us will furnish Him with a reason for His favours, He furnishes Himself with one.” Ten times in the last 11 verses of the chapter God says, “I will,” and we can count on Him to consistently carry out His will. “Man proposes, but God disposes.” This is a statement by Thomas a Kempis (1380-1471). He wrote a classic book called, The Imitation of Christ, which can be purchased on Amazon (click here). Proverbs 16:9 tells us that “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.”

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Thank You, Lord God, that again and again You initiate action to accomplish Your will. You have given me will power. Therefore, I choose to pray, “Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven!” I pray this for Your “Name’s sake” and in the Name of the One who could say about His Father, “I always do those things that please Him” (John 8:29b), Amen!!!

100 PERSONAL WORDS:

When I pray the “Our Father” prayer that Jesus taught His disciples (students) to pray, “Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven,” I’m very conscious of the fact that God has put His plans for my best into the area of my human free will. I’m made, according to the Scriptures, in the image and likeness of God. “Then God said, ‘Let us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness'” (Genesis 1:26a). We are not like creatures programmed to behave in a certain way, but we have the freedom to make our own choices. The most dangerous and yet glorious choice is whether we will serve God or ourselves. When I give my will to do God’s will by praying for God’s will, not just in general, but concerning specific matters, God will, without violating my free will with which He created me, bring about His will. Prayer is my “welcome mat” for God. “Come in, Lord God. You’re in charge here!” Remember the question, WWJD? What would Jesus do? I find out the answer to that question sooner or later in God’s time, because I’ve prayed!

Yours most sincerely and prayerfully,

David

P.S. On the “Make You Think” challenge of the past few days, I’m asking readers to think about the reason that God would bother sending Prophets to speak of coming events. Surely God could’ve done anything He wanted to do without telling us in advance. Tomorrow, God willing, I’ll give my thoughts on this question.

  1. Dear Father, please, please, bring about Your will in all the earth and even in Canada. We don’t hear so much about what is going on in this world, but You know, You see, every person; nothing is hidden from You. Help people in their distress; move the hearts of leaders and judges to do what You know is right. Bring many to You today, Lord.
I also pray for Tamara Lich, who is being held in prison, without bail, for the charge of ‘mischief’. Comfort her and bring justice to this land. Please keep exposing and overturning the evils in our society, Father, in Jesus’s great name, amen

For information on Ms Lich, you can read this article by Rex Murphy: https://m.theepochtimes.com/rex-murphy-tamara-lich-doesnt-deserve-the-humiliation-shes-been-subjected-to_4313257.html?utm_source=morningbrief&utm_campaign=mb-2022-03-02&utm_medium=email_MB&est=p8EsQ87HW8Re90oMnLFB4gfw5ZNiRBbFykmzF%2Bk5qlCsDCxTZYjeOSWJtr1l

  2. I’m so thankful that God does tell us in advance what will happen and His Will in different circumstances. With so much going on in the world just now, let us not forget to praise the Lord. He is faithful and trustworthy. Missing Beverlee’s input and praying that she is well. Also praying for the total upheaval in Ukraine and surrounding countries with the very large numbers displaced by the Russians. Blessings all today – spring is not far off.

  3. I pray for the people of Ukraine and also the Russian soldiers who do not want to fight their brothers. This is probably another factor in the slow Russian advance.Adolf Putin is most definitely a psychopath. On the other hand the world has to get much worse before the Rapture so this may be part of Satan’s escalation.Keep your eye on Israel, they may soon be surrounded. May God bless

  4. Amen to the prayers above
Rob thanks so much for your links
I continue to pray for Tamara and all those involved in peaceful protests for freedom in our own country. I pray that politicians of all stripes will have the courage to stand for what is right and not bow down to tyrannical leaders
In Ontario today Roman Baber is presenting for second reading his bill “the Jobs and Jabs Act” you can read the bill on Ontario’s legislative Assembly Website please pray for this to pass 2nd and 3rd reading

  5. I rec’d this from Roman Baber yesterday.

With passports no longer required or recommended by Public Health Ontario, the PC government, the Liberals and the NDP, cannot justify the continuation of the mandates. The mandates devastated tens of thousands of Ontario’s families and are not based on science.
My Bill to protect employees against workplace mandates, the Jobs and Jabs Act (the “Bill”) is back before Ontario’s Legislature tomorrow, Thursday, March 3, 2022. You can read the Bill on Ontario’s Legislative Assembly website. The Bill prohibits reprisal, suspension and termination of any employee (unless federally regulated) because of their vaccination status or failing to disclose their vaccination status. The Bill is retroactive to September 1, 2021.
Jobs & Jabs passed First Reading on October 5, 2021. I immediately sought unanimous consent to pass the Bill by moving it to Third Reading but consent was denied. Tomorrow, the Bill will come back for Second Reading, followed by a voice vote. I do not know if Parliament will support the Bill, nor will I be able to force a recorded vote, unless myself and four more MPPs (5 in total) stand up to request a recorded vote. If the Bill passes Second Reading, I will immediately seek unanimous consent to move it to Third Reading. It takes only one MPP to block the Bill from moving forward. With the legislative session ending in two months, it is safe to assume that if consent is withheld from moving the Bill to Third Reading tomorrow, Jobs and Jabs will not pass.
I ask that you help me put pressure on Doug Ford and Minister of Labour, Monte McNaughton, to support my Bill or bring their own bill to protect all workers. Your local MPP needs to know that if Jobs and Jabs is blocked by anyone from their party, you will do everything in your power to ensure they lose their seat in June’s election. Please find your MPP by postal code here: Search – Elections Ontario. I also ask that you write a short email to Labour Minister, Monte McNaughton, at monte.mcnaughtonco@pc.ola.org, tell your story and ask him to support Jobs & Jabs.
My team and I are committed to do everything in our power to help end workplace mandates. We will provide an update on Thursday evening via my social media platforms Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
    Yours very truly,
    Roman Baber
