Key Verse: Numbers 4:49

According to the commandment of the Lord they were numbered by the hand of Moses, each according to his service and according to his task; thus were they numbered by him, as the Lord commanded Moses.

God has a job for everyone, the willing workers, and even those who are willing to let the self-starters with drive do it all. Sharing our time, our energies, and our resources with others in God’s work is absolutely essential. God, in His wisdom, wants each individual to serve, functioning as a member of the team, so that the burden is not carried by the few but by the many. The Tabernacle was the forerunner to the Church. In the Church, God calls people to serve (see Ephesians 4:11-16). Paul tells us about the leadership in the Church and also gives the reasons why we need those who are gifted by God in ministry. Check out also 1 Corinthians 12:28-31. None of us are left out. I particularly like God’s appointment of “Helps.”

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Dear Lord Jesus, show me that to which You have appointed me for this time of my life. I know that spending time daily with You and Your Word are definitely part of my appointment. Please show me what else You have for me today. Amen!

100 PERSONAL WORDS:

I was about to turn 17 when I knew God was calling me into ministry. God did not give me any details. I thought about the word “ministry” and realized that it meant that I was simply to be a servant and to serve wherever and whenever the opportunity arose. It could be in the form of a request from others, or it could be at God’s initiative. It could be as a result of my own initiative as well. My job was to get busy. I’ve often come across people who are waiting for God to open doors. That’s never been my problem. I’ve seen open doors everywhere. I believe that every street corner is a ministry location. I don’t need to wait for a formal call to Pastor a Church, for example. On a Monday morning at 4 a.m. I committed to this blog. I’m not computer savvy, but I knew I could learn. Four months later, 100words.ca showed up. Thank you to those who have written blog comments encouraging me to continue. My job is not to answer questions, for that’s where God has put the ministry gifts in the local Church. Someone has that job and God has gifted that person to be a help.

Yours for all of us finding the job God has for each one of us,

David

  1. Thank You God, for your call on our lives. Thank You Lord, for needing and using us on earth, that others may come to know You in heaven. Ever grateful, we are, for Your sacrifice for us, Lord Jesus. Lift up your hearts, fellow saints in the Lord, as Adonai pours out blessings of love for our faithfulness. We keep our eyes centered on You, Jesus. We keep our eyes centered on You. Wishing you all a wonderful day.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33 KJV

Complete in Thee (this runs on into more wonderful songs)

  2. There is a problem with today’s 100words that was emailed.
The chapter and title were from yesterday, so it was confusing.
I had to check 100words.ca to figure it out.
I share/forward the one in my Inbox, but don’t want to with the errors.
Today’s gives the title FAMILIES, and the reading Numbers 3!

I don’t know who is sending them, but this has happened a few times.
Maybe, I just need to do the Internet one & not the INBOX.

    • My email was the same, Karen. Always safer to just go straight to the 100words.ca page, and wait for today’s to be posted. Someone posting the emails might be on holidays and it is not checked. God’s blessings on you, today.

    • I found that too but just did a Google search to
get the correct one. It could be difficult for a newer blogger, I would think. Great & beautiful praise music today. Thanks Beverlee.

    • I use the direct link in my tool bar.A few days ago the email version failed to arrive (another blogger mentioned it to me later that day so it was not just me.)Also,if there is a problem, you can look on the right side of the home page and scroll back 2 years to get the correct day’s blog. Thanks again to Ron and all connected to this wonderful blog.May God bless

  3. I want to thank you all, once again for your prayers for Joseph, my husband.
He was discharged from the hospital yesterday and is doing not badly. We still need and appreciate your prayers going forward for a complete recovery.

Could you please pray for a man, also named Joe, who is having surgery today to remove a cancerous tumour from his throat. The surgery is supposed to last 6 hours. May the Lord do the work through the surgeon’s hands and may the surgery go well and Joe be completely healed.

Thank you so much! God bless you.

  4. Praying to You, our Heavenly Father, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and to the sanctity of the Holy Spirit. We bring Joe to You in prayer. Guide the hands of the surgeons to remove the cancerous tumour fully from his throat, Lord, and keep it from spreading anywhere else in his body. We pray for complete healing and rest for this man we bring before You. Be with him and his family, Lord. Bring Your cloak of protection upon them all. In Jesus’ mighty Name, we pray. Amen, amen, and amen.

We also pray for continued healing for Joseph and strength for Luisa and her family. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
