Key Verse: Leviticus 22:19

…you shall offer of your own free will a male without blemish from the cattle, from the sheep, or from the goats.

This reading begins with the requirement for the priests to separate themselves from the holy things until they were cleansed. The holy things were made from the offerings of silver and gold given by the people to God. When the gifts of God’s people are placed for service in our hands, we must be very circumspect in the way these gifts are used. We must never misuse those offerings. In the New Testament, we understand the teaching of the priesthood of the believers (1 Peter 2:4-10). We, as believers, have a unique calling within the human family to represent others before God. We need to take this responsibility most seriously. Our key verse drives home the point that we must make our own offerings unto God, not just expect others to do this for us. In fact, we are to present our bodies “a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service” (Romans 12:1).

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Dear Lord, thank You for Your powerful instruction found in Romans 12:1-2. As I repeat those verses before You, I ask that I will not be conformed to this world, but be transformed for this new day, by the renewing of my mind, that I may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. I pray through the Person and work of Jesus, the One who got it right 100% of the time. Amen!

100 PERSONAL WORDS:

Whether in a local congregation or in the ministry of Crossroads, I refused to handle the offerings myself which were given by people to God’s work. I sought strong and upright people for the various Boards of Deacons, Elders, Directors, and they, in turn, appointed Treasurers or Chief Financial Officers whose responsibility it was to administer the offerings according to the approved budgets. I was interviewed live on Canada’s national television network, the CBC, back in 1978. The interviewer threw the charge at me of being wealthy from the offerings given to the ministry. I came prepared. I drew my T4 slip (the government approved form showing income) from my pocket and handed it to him. I said, “I have the union booklet which determines what these fine camera operators here in your studio are paid. As you can see, I make less than they do.” He immediately changed the subject. I have sought, by the grace of God, to be most careful to “have a good testimony among those who are outside” (1 Timothy 3:7a). I have learned from the Apostle Paul (1 Timothy 3:1-13) and from other great men and women of God in my generation.

Yours for a “good testimony” to all people everywhere,

David

  2. Thank you saints for your prayers. The catscan revealed the location of 2 pinched nerves, which will help the surgeon. Those pinched nerves are causing my foot to buckle, hence, the falls. Please pray that a CANCELLATION SURGERY BE GIVEN TO ME as the wait for surgery is much longer now due to covid back-up. When my surgeon sees the ER and XRAY report which my Doctor will forward him, it will open the door for this. Also, thank you for continued prayers for the healing now of my sprained ankle. Pray God brings me the exact help I need over the next 2 weeks to move. Thank You Lord. You know all my concerns. I thank You for the moments of calm peace and joy You offer me each day. And for the prayers of these precious saints. May You bless them for their kindness to me. In Jesus’s Name. Amen.

  3. Will do, Beverley. Praying that He will open a door where the doors appear to be closed & that those of His choosing will come along side. I let the music run on before you mentioned it and I got a beautiful “Jesus, What a Wonderful You Are”. Lovely. Blessings to all today – this day of thankfulness!

  4. Hello Beverly, Thank you for all of your uplifting words and all of the beautiful music you share.
I have never met you, however, I have a sense that you are a very beautiful woman of God.
Praying our merciful Father, who hears all of our prayers, will pour out His favour on you in the coming days.
As we look at things in the natural, we are told in His word that they are subject to change. He is our Supernatural God.
This verse came to mind for you this morning, Ephesians 3:20, declare it and by faith receive it. Jesus Loves you so very much Beverley and all you share with us.

  5. Happy Thanksgiving to the Mainse Family and 100 Huntley St; also to all the 100words readers and blogging family. Have read all your posts and about your fall and injured ankle Beverlee. Sorry didn’t respond earlier but do pray you heal and get the surgery and moving help you need. Have been praying for my oldest brother, Les who is not well and youngest brother Eldon who almost passed out of this world last week with a seizure in Bangor. Both of them live across the border in Maine so i cannot visit them. They both need to commit themselves to the Lord. Lord help us all to be overcomers in Jesus Name. God bless you all.

I join in the outpouring of love and prayers for Beverlee. I am asking Our Father to make available a surgery date, “just at right time”. He knows all that is going on in your life, right now and He’s already chosen the perfect date for the surgery.
I’m praying also for a smooth transition, as you move and am looking forward to your book ! (Thank you for the recipes, today)

Praying for your brothers, Ger. May they sense the need and urgency to humble themselves before God and receive His forgiveness .

Update on mike from Fargo. He has been moved to Jamestown, which is his hometown. He is in respite but I believe the Lord can wake him up there if it is his will. I pray for peace for his family to handle whatever is Gods will. And prayers for the person who committed this assault. May it bring him to the Lord for salvation

    God bless all the bloggers
