Key Verse: Exodus 25:8

And let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them.

This chapter starts with an offering. The word “willingly” reminds us of 2 Corinthians 9:7, “God loves a cheerful giver.” The gifts to God were gold, silver, bronze, etc. Out of these offerings to the Lord, the artisans were to make the Ark of the Covenant, the Table of Showbread, the Golden Lampstand and the rest of the furnishings of the Tabernacle. The imagination of the people was fired by the stories told by the craftsmen and the priests. The lid of the Ark was known as the “Mercy Seat.” God was “mercy seated” toward His people as a result of the blood of the sacrifice which was sprinkled on the golden overlay of the Ark. For a commentary on these powerful symbols, let’s find the time to read, if possible before we sleep tonight, Hebrews chapters 8, 9, & 10, the faith chapter 11, and then 12 & 13 (click here to read). This will be most worthwhile in understanding what all this means for us.

Dear Lord, thank You for being mercy seated for me. I pray with the publican in the Temple, “God be merciful to me a sinner” (Luke 18:13). According to Your Word, I am forgiven and my sin is gone. Amen! (1 John 1:9)

The pictures today are not taken in Israel but in the back parking lot of the Crossroads Centre, in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. During the summer of 2012, thousands of people visited this amazing replica. It was created by Teen Missions International of Florida and transported to us here in Canada in a huge tractor trailer truck. When visitors entered the full-sized replica, the Outer Court, the Holy Place and the Holy of Holies, there was silence, except for the High Priest who says appropriate prayers in Hebrew. Crossroads erected a “Tent of Meeting” where a pastor/teacher shared how Jesus of Nazareth took the symbols and made them reality in His life and in His sacrificial death on the Cross. Many made decisions to become believers in Jesus, receiving Him as Saviour and Lord.

Yours to help us all assimilate (make part of ourselves) God’s revelation to the human family,

P.S. The Tabernacle project has been at the Crossroads Centre in 1997, as well as in 2012.  Crossroads continually seeks to initiate creative ways to bring thousands of precious people to Jesus. The prayers and support of every blog reader are so very important moving forward (for giving info, click here).

  1. I remember when the tabernacle was at Crossroads in the summer of 2012. I was on my way back to Kingston, driving by; was going to stop but did not quite have enough time. Indeed, something I regret as it was a once in a lifetime chance to see. Thank you saints for your concerns re: my tooth. It was a good oral surgery, however I had extensive pain and continue to do so. This morning, I do believe it is infected with pain in my right ear during the night and certain something is draining from the tooth. So, I have called my dentist, asking for an antibiotic and a follow-up, later; hopefully that will go through. Your prayers are appreciated–also for my emotional well being; am worn down a bit. His blessings upon you, fellow saints. May all your needs be met and your hearts be fulfilled in His Spirit.

God came from Teman, and the Holy One from Mount Paran. His splendor covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise. Selah 4 His brightness was like the light; rays flashed from his hand; and there he veiled his power.

    • Just love this song. 💟 Hope you enjoy it, dear saints. It leads into another beautiful melody, as well. Amen! 🤷

  2. Praying for you Beverlee – that the best antibiotics will chosen for you. I was privileged to be a guide @ the 1997 Tabernacle. We learned much from the experience. Mennonite people came from different parts of Ontario along with school children from Christian schools and many families & church groups. I’m also in need of prayer today & would appreciate prayer (for pain & digestive problems). Tests coming up. Thanks so much.

  3. Dear Father in heaven I pray for Beverlee that she would be able to get antibiotics that will heall any infection she has quickly.
I also pray for Doreen that she will be able to find out what is causing her problems, from the tests she is going to have. In the meantime I pray that you would give these two special ladies a touch from yourself ease their pain. I pray all this in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.🙏🙏Eleanor M

  4. Lord, I bring Beverlee to you that she may get the right antibiotic and relief from her tooth ache. Also that Doreen may get relief from pain and digestive problems in Jesus Name. Lord hear my prayer as I bow my head and pray for these dear sisters. Amen! I have not been called for a colonoscopy test yet so I am just praying everything is all right and my dentist appointment over across(US) is way past due but the border is not open so have been caring for my teeth well at home.

  5. Dear Lord God, how we need You, in every way! Help all Your people through all their challenges and struggles, we ask in Jesus’s name, remembering that You overcame all, even death. Thank You that You are the Victor!
Father, we commit the battles we see in the political and social spheres to You. This is Your world, and we ask that Your good will is done, and that Your Word goes out freely to all people everywhere. Open people’s eyes and hearts to see the real battles are for the eternal life of every soul. You are the One restraining evil in this world, and we ask You for another great awakening in this world; that many, many people will come to You and be saved. In Jesus’s great name, amen
