This 60-foot high colossal statue of Ramses II, carved from limestone, once stood upright but now lays on the ground in a pavilion for display. This statue had adorned the great temple of Ptah in Memphis, Egypt. Ramses the Great ruled for more than 60 years (circa 1279 to 1213 B.C.)

Key Verse: Genesis 40:8

And they said to him, “We each have had a dream, and there is no interpreter of it.” So Joseph said to them, “Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell them to me, please.”

Joseph had a living and daily relationship with God. Therefore, no matter what happened to him or where he found himself, he always had the consciousness of God’s enabling Presence. When the butler and baker told him of their troubling dreams, he was able to say with confidence that God would reveal His message to these imprisoned servants of Pharaoh. “The Spirit of God” lived in Joseph. The two gifts of the Holy Spirit exercised by Joseph were, “the word of wisdom,” and “the word of knowledge.” Check out 1 Corinthians 12:1-8. These gifts were not just for the Church in Corinth, Greece, but for all people of all time who faithfully serve the God of Abraham and who “pursue love and desire spiritual gifts” (1 Cor. 14:1).

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Lord God, I believe Your Spirit lives in me. Please reveal to me Your thoughts so that I may respond with wisdom and knowledge for others, as well as myself. As I read and think Your thoughts as expressed in Your Word, may I be given the grace to express those thoughts when the opportunity presents itself, particularly in winning precious people to Christ. Amen!

100 PERSONAL WORDS:

In preparation for this blog, I spend approximately half an hour reading the Word and meditating upon the thoughts expressed therein. Then I match that time in prayer and praise to God. A daily request is for “wisdom.” In James 1:5 it says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” I ask in faith without doubting and I know I receive from Him. A while back, at a time of some frustration, I attempted to correct a grandson in front of others. That was not wise. I contacted him as soon as I could reach him and asked forgivness, not for the correction, but for a lack of wisdom in not doing this privately, just between the two of us. This blog is challenging me. The Holy Spirit is still giving gifts of “wisdom.” I need all the help I can get.

Yours, praying for “Wisdom” for myself and for you also,

David

  1. We all desire wisdom.Joseph had wisdom and personal integrity. He knew God well enough to trust Him and had the assurance to believe His revelations.

After attending a gospel show I had a sleepless night.A
melody started in my head, over and over, followed by
the first line of the chorus, then I had to get up (at 328
    AM,finished at 4:16 AM.June 6/2011),wait for my old PC
to boot up and this is the result.I corrected two typos but
this is as it was written, like taking dictation .

    Salvation

Sweet Jesus I owe everything to you and to you alone,
You have shown me my home, you are my anchorstone,
You have saved me always when stormy winds have blown,
You have always been my rock, the truest friend I’ve known,
So why do you think me worthy as a seed you have sown
What can I ever do to earn all the love you’ve shown .

    Ch:
Let me know sweet Jesus, let me know beyond my days
Let me know my savour, when I bow down to you in praise,
When my time here is drawing short and coming to a close,
As they carry me away after leading the life I chose,
I pray that I will leave not sorrow for those that I love,
But instead to know the joy that waits for us above.

I am not a wealthy man but I am very rich by far,
When I walk my journey you’re my guiding star
And you know that I am honest in all the things I do,
I have never born false witness,I only say what’s true,
You have strengthened my soul before I even knew
Of life’s losses with your love to see me through.

You have always had your hand placed within my soul,
You have shown me your light that has made me whole,
I have never known this love that comes from your grace,
Nor have I known compassion that shines from your face,
For I am still a sinner and you are the Son of God
I can only meet you at the end of the road I trod.

    • Amen William: This is wonderful and I agree with Luisa that you have been gifted to write.
May the Lord continue to bless you in this manner.
Have a great day everyone. Doreen is right , it is a scorcher here today and warmer tomorrow.☀️

  2. Great, thoughtful poem William. It’s supposed to be a scorcher here in southern Ontario today. Went for a good walk earlier this morning. It might be the only walk today if it gets really hot. Keep well saints and be wise in the heat. Blessings.

  3. recently the scripture reading program has been changed on my computer. There is advertising on both sides of the reading, making the scripture reading section much smaller. Ron, I wonder if this has to do with your program? Just wondering.
very thankful for your commitment to giving us the Bible reading and David’s words.

  4. Another good one:

“O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder
Thy power throughout the universe displayed

    [Refrain]
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

When through the woods, and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze

    [Refrain]
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in
That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing
He bled and died to take away my sin

    [Refrain]
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration
And then proclaim: “My God, how great Thou art!”

    [Refrain]
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!”
