LET GOD ARISE! (Psalm 68:1a)

Today’s Reading: Psalms 67-68

Mount Hermon in Northern Israel is snow capped year-round. In today’s reading King David’s poetry mentions snow and the mountain peaks (Psalm 68:14-16).

Key Verses: Psalm 68:3-4, 11

But let the righteous be glad;

Let them rejoice before God;

Yes, let them rejoice exceedingly.

Sing to God, sing praises to His name;

Extol Him who rides on the clouds,

By His name YAH,

And rejoice before Him.

The Lord gave the word;

Great was the company of those who proclaimed it.

God’s Name, “YAH” (Hebrew) is “JEHOVAH” in our language. There is one true Creator God! Our God is “the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” We may want to read from our translation from the Greek language the words of Paul in Ephesians 1:3-6. The “awesome” (to borrow from yesterday’s reading) plan of God for the salvation of the whole world is ours to communicate to every man, woman, and child.

In Psalm 67, the word “NATIONS” is repeated three times. God’s face is shining upon us so that God’s “way may be known on earth,” and so that there will be “salvation among all nations!” “ALL NATIONS!” Can we, the readers of this blog, possibly be a vital part of that great “company of those who proclaimed it?” How each of us answer this question will make a huge difference in accomplishing this task or, on the other hand, failing to do our part. Which will it be?

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Lord God, here I am waiting before You. I pray for grace to be a part of that great company whose job it is to proclaim Your Word to all the “NATIONS ON EARTH!” I pray for unbending determination to never, never, never give up on the accomplishment of this mandate to which You, “the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,” have called me. I ask for a great company to join together with You to get the job done. Amen!!!

100 PERSONAL WORDS:

I thank God for the ministry of Crossroads Christian Communications and how He will lead us forward to the glorious goal that, through all kinds of mass media communications, Psalm 67:2 will be accomplished…”THAT YOUR WAY MAY BE KNOWN ON EARTH, YOUR SALVATION AMONG ALL NATIONS!!!”

Yours for the “company of those who proclaimed it,” (the Word) because “the Lord gave the Word!”

David

      MAKING A DIFFERENCE

      Only the Holy Spirit can change someone’s heart, but God is calling us to be a part of the process. We can make a difference in the eternal lives of others. We can tell our neighbors how Christ changed our lives. We can share with our friends why we have peace in the middle of difficult times. We can train our children in the ways of the Lord. And we can unite together in prayer for the souls of nonbelievers.

      Only the Holy Spirit can change someone’s heart, but God is calling us to be a part of the process.

      We can pray that we will continue to have the freedom to openly speak Jesus’ name in public. We can pray that we remain free to share the full Gospel message, without being confined to a politically correct version. We can pray that God will continue to use His people to spread His Gospel to the ends of the world.

      Spend time in prayer today examining your priorities. Where does the Great Commission fall on that list? Pray daily that God will renew your passion for the souls of nonbelievers. Pray that God prepares the hearts of those around you to receive the Gospel message. Pray for the Holy Spirit to provide you with opportunities to share about Christ. Pray that our country’s freedoms will continue so that we may freely speak the uncompromising Truth of the Gospel.

      Prayer: Father, I pray that You would use me to make a difference in the lives of those around me. Renew my passion to see the lost come to know You. Open doors of opportunity for me to talk about You and give me the courage to boldly proclaim Your Truth. Thank You for the freedom we have to speak about You. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

      “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and the one who is wise saves lives” (Proverbs 11:30).

  2. How did our society get so far away from God’s teachings & influence? I think it’s like the story told about a frog. If you put him in a pot of hot water, he will jump out but if into water that is comfortable and THEN turning up the heat slowly, he won’t notice until it’s too late. DEAD. We really do need to pray for the freedom to speak God’s truth. It is getting pretty warm out there. Father, in Jesus Name, we pray that You will protect your word via Crossroads tv & other media and methods of communication that are true to Your teaching & according to Your perfect will. Amen

  3. I expected to see “Let God Arise & His Enemies Be Scattered” song today because of the title David gave for this post! (I don’t know how to post it).

  4. David titled today’s reading let God arise there is a song that I sang in church in my youth days by that very same title and the words are let God arise and his enemies be scattered let God arise and his enemies be scattered let God arise and his enemies be scattered let God let God arise maybe some of my fellow bloggers are familiar with that song that’s an old old song be blessed today my fellow blockers amen

  5. One more thought with the upcoming election I pray that God will arise in our leaders and that the right person would get into office so yes my prayers are with this upcoming federal election October 21st 2019 God bless our leaders and God bless this great nation of Canada we really do stand on guard for thee amen

  6. How did we get so far away from the Lord God and worshipping Him. Very Easy!
    the devil makes sure that other “stiff“ is `more important“.
    I can only speak about my life; I used to do the Janitorial work at church,did this for years; children would help, it worked very well for many years, then children grew up, reached Grade 12, had to move to go too college: so, that left me alone, I could handle it for awhile but I was getting older and the church building was very busy with regular worship and people in the community using some of the rooms for their meetings……so…….it got very busy and I hired a couple of people to help with the work; they got paid and I got older….so finally when I reached 72 I had to give up the cleaning……..then I was blessed with a Sleep Disorder and I am not up until a little after 12 noon every day; so I began talking about evening services as I know of many others who are not up in the morning anymore, and the evening services are happening; very slow; but building up the numbers, and I have to say; `Thank you Lord for this`
    I take care of the weeding of the plants and garden outside….I am thankful that I can still help somewhere; of course now the church has Janitorial Company doing the work….Praise and thanks to God for everything………amen amen amen

    I have learned something; that when one way is not working anymore, find another way to make things work, do not stop just because people can not get to an event anymore in the morning……..I learned that lesson and I do believe God was talking to me about this issue and He has make it possible to have evening services, Thank You Lord amen amen amen
