Key Verse: Numbers 7:1-3

Now it came to pass, when Moses had finished setting up the tabernacle, that he anointed it and consecrated it and all its furnishings, and the altar and all its utensils; so he anointed them and consecrated them. Then the leaders of Israel, the heads of their fathers’ houses, who were the leaders of the tribes and over those who were numbered, made an offering. And they brought their offering before the Lord, six covered carts and twelve oxen, a cart for every two of the leaders, and for each one an ox; and they presented them before the tabernacle.

Today’s reading may make us wonder as to why it’s here. It is so repetitive. The gifts which the leaders of the tribes present to God at the dedication of the Tabernacle are listed 12 times over. Could a reason be to show generosity? Could another reason be to teach the children what it means to take responsibility as the heads of households? God instructs parents to show leadership, teaching, not only in word, but by example. If we, as parents, are givers, chances are that our children will also be givers.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Dear Lord Jesus, You are the greatest Giver, and according to Your Word, You live in and through me. Please grant me the grace to channel Your Spirit of giving through me. In Your Name I pray. Amen!

100 PERSONAL WORDS:

I believe that the most grievous evil in God’s sight is the slaughter of the precious little lives still in the womb. We have a granddaughter who entered Brisbane Australia as newborn when her parents were employed at our Expo ’88 Pavilion there. She came 13 weeks early. Today she is a Children’s Pastor and has developed an amazing curriculum for 11-13 year-old girls. Every life matters! (click here for Rachelle’s ministry, Princess 911).  In Canada and the USA a little body like hers was at the time of her birth can be ripped apart in the womb by cruel instruments of death and even crueler people. The main question for us is, “Who will be most committed to protecting these amazing new lives?”

Yours for the great joy of living,

David

  1. Oh, the sheep! And we are those sheep, fellow saints in the Lord! Being fed by the Word and Spirit of God and led by our Master in heaven! How great is He, and we, to worship Him! Oh Adonai, Prince of Peace, King of Kings! We live today, in honour of the greatness of Your Holy Name! Wishing all a blessed day!

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

    • Amen, Beverlee!
We are His sheep and HE is our shepherd…not just any shepherd but THE GOOD SHEPHERD who laid down His life for us! We are the most blessed of all “ sheep”. He leads us beside still waters and restores our soul. Praise be to His Holy Name forever!

Wishing all saints a blessed day! For those needing encouragement , remember that The Shepherd is watching over you and stands between you and whatever/ whoever is against you.

  2. Thanks Beverley – a beautiful worship song. Words so amazing & true. We also had two babies miraculously saved from too early birth. One in 3rd world country (grandson) that had no incubators – born 3 months premature and a second, (my youngest son) born a twin at 2 lbs. Both are amazing people. We praise God for them.

  3. Lord God, please have mercy on our country which is going in a decidedly anti-Christian direction. Please strengthen your people, help us stand for You, send out more of your workers, open the doors for your gospel to go out clearly, and draw many souls to You. Be glorified throughout this land, I ask in Jesus’s great name, amen

  4. One time I read when David wrote when something is repetitious as it is in today’s chapter Numbers Chapter 7 that there is a purpose and a reason for it being repetitious and that it is important to God I read it once in the blog that that is what David explained when something is repetitious that it is important to God and it was written for such a time as this bless everyone this day amen

  5. Just wondering why God had his Son born to a Jewish woman. Wondering why not an East Indian lady or Chinese or any other race? God does work in mysterious ways. Blessings on all Saints this day and always.

  6. Thanking David for his words of wisdom, and prayer! Seeing those sheep gives a feeling of peace…thank you Reynold!

Was blessed with all comments from each participant!

    Winter is here!

  7. Amen to all the posts today. Had a busy day attending a Remembrance Day program at the elementary school and getting my car prepared for winter. Trust all had a good day. God bless you.
