King David’s Tomb is a site traditionally viewed as the burial place of David, King of Israel. It is located on Mount Zion in Jerusalem, near the Hagia Maria Sion Abbey.

Key Verse: 1 Kings 2:3

And keep the charge of the Lord your God: to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, His judgments, and His testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn.

King David’s final words to his son Solomon resembles those spoken by Moses to Joshua (Deuteronomy 31:7-13). Two towering historical people, Moses and David, make for interesting character studies. Great care was taken by the writers of Scripture to be accurate. Most histories written about an absolute ruler are coloured to make the monarch look much better than reality, but not the Bible. It tells it like it really was.
David had a good idea what it will take for his son to have a successful reign. The twelve tribes were filled with people who would be extremely difficult to rule. This was 500 years before democracy arose in Greece. Since Israel had rejected God’s rule through judges, who would be recognized as leaders only when needed, the prediction of Samuel as to the actions of kings was now a reality. The often-quoted statement, “Absolute power corrupts absolutely,” will be shown to be true as we move through the sad history of the next 500 years. Some of what David says is good advice for us too: “Keep the charge of the Lord your God: to walk in His ways.” Amen!!!

Lord God, I pray for grace to obey Your instructions in all matters. With all my heart and mind, I desire to walk in Your ways. In the Name of Jesus, the only One who ever walked 100% of the time in Your ways, I ask this request. Amen!!!

My son, Ron, on the 100 Huntley Street telecast, has mentioned that five of the Circle Square Ranches were given by Crossroads six years ago to InterVarsity Christian Fellowship to join with their already very successful Pioneer Camps. The other ranches are now operated by other worthy ministries. It’s time to register our children and our teens at a Christian summer camp. Check out the camp nearest you, run by various Christian organizations across Canada…click here. Or if you’re in the USA, click here. When I first received the vision from God for the Circle Square Ranch ministry, I became convinced that an in-depth work of God’s Spirit and His Word could be accomplished in one week at a Bible camp, more than in any other way, such as seven Sundays in Sunday School. Don’t get me wrong. I’m the biggest fan of faithful Sunday School attendance. But that concentrated week, day and night, at camp is very, very effective. Because of the television opportunities we enjoyed, our registration records showed approximately 60% of the campers came from homes where the children had no church background. From 1978 to 2010, Circle Square Ranches hosted approximately 250,000 children and teens for at least a week each. It has been estimated that as many as 100,000 of these infinitely precious souls made first-time decisions to give their lives to Jesus. I’m praying fervently for a great response this summer at every camp which is committed to serving Jesus.

Yours for future generations of followers of Christ. “Indeed, [One] greater than Solomon is here” (Luke 11:31b),

  1. Indeed, absolute power corrupts absolutely, as has been the pattern all throughout the Bible, until Jesus our King, reigns on earth, as it is in heaven. Wonderful vlog, this morning, and I want to say how well you have followed in your father’s footsteps, Ron. I remember when you were first on-air with your wife Ann on 100 Huntley Street–very shy quiet and timid. You now emulate your father–it is so nice to have you together, each morning. Continued prayers of wellness for you, David. I so look forward to receiving the autographed copy of Journey into Joy. Blessings, fellow saints in the Lord!

What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. Philippians 3:8 NIV

Worshiping to this song, this morning:
Jesus I Am So In Love With You

  2. The Bible is filled with history that if we are wise we can learn so much on how to finish our life journey well.

I am a at a personal “crossroads” trying to decide which direction to take– as some might remember my mother passed away in August of last year, I was her stay at home caretaker– now the estate is almost settled I need to find a new job and new place to live– please pray for me that the Lord will lead me and guide me in these daunting choices ahead.

I have been out of the workforce for almost 30 years and find the task before me overwhelming–so as well as direction, I pray maybe the Lord in his kindness will bring people in my life that will be a practical help to me as well as emotional support.

I thank you in advance for your prayers. I know there are many strong prayer warriors on this site, like Sah whose faith in God’s provision for her life has been such an inspiration to me And there are many other regular bloggers whose sharing has strengthen me in my faith walk– bless you all

    • Donna I pray the Lord will guide you in the direction you are to take. He is faithful; His word say He will never leave you or forsake you.
Lord God I pray and lift Donna up before you; Your word says that we are to ask, and You will answer according our need.
Donna needs guidance for this time in her life, and I ask Lord for Your hand to lead her in the way should go. I also ask Lord for your peace to fill her heart and mind: And that the spirit of fear to depart from her, in Your Name Jesus I ask this, and for the confidence that is of You to fill her mind and heart. Amen Jesus I pray in Your Mighty Holy Name!!

    • Lift Donna with Your feathers, Lord; protect her with Your wings; give her confidence and resolve, direction and purpose. Open the doors wide that need to be opened and clearly show her the way. Dismiss her fear and strengthen her trust in You. For You alone are worthy. You alone are God. You alone are most high. And it is to You, that we give all the thanks and praise. In You, we place our trust and faith and know that all will be well. In Jesus’ precious Name. Amen, amen, and amen.

    • Blessings sweet child of God! I’m sending you a BIG BIG hug! So happy you have shared your thoughts and prayer requests! That’s exactly what God wants us to do!

Lord You know Donna and You know exactly where she is in her life journey! You blessed her Lord to be a caretaker to her beloved mother! You have blessed Donna with skills and abilities to be a very caring person; it takes patience, abounding love, forgiveness; an honesty in our feelings when we look after loved ones, especially our parents!

Lord I pray that You will speak very clearly to Donna! She realizes that she needs to find a new job and a different place to live! She is also asking for practical help and emotional support! She is very wise to realize she needs this support!

Lord I know that You have a plan for Donna! I know it is a good plan! I also know that it will be exactly what Donna is looking for in regards to a new job and a new place to live! I also know that You Lord already have people lined up to meet Donna and walk with her through the grieving process, and thank you Lord that it is a process! I pray Lord that those who will appear to Donna will be just the right people for her to speak and they will be very understanding and helpful! Thank you Lord that You have us in the palm of Your Hand! Thank you Lord that we have never been alone one moment in our lives! You are always with us!

Thank you Lord that we can come to you and ask for Your help.
We thank you that You will speak to Donna, that You hear her prayers, You have just the right place for her! Again Lord, bless this sister in Christ and thank You for answering her prayers!

Lord bless us all with good sleep, good health, good sense of humour.and a spirit of unconditional love for one another!

Philippians 4:19…..blessings Donna and please keep us posted!

  3. Was great to see you on 100 Huntley St. Pastor David and I just heard the first part this morning. You did very well. God bless you. Will watch it the second time. I identify with what you are facing right now Donna M. as the same thing happened to me. Thank God I was able to work for Canadian Red Cross caring for seniors for 10 years to support myself after I cared for my Mother in her home for fourteen and a half years. I tried tutoring in an elementary school for a few months and discovered I didn’t fit there anymore. Will pray for you and continue to pray for you dear David.

  4. Prayed with you Pastor David..I too desire….”to walk in HIS ways, Lord God, I pray in the Name of Jesus.”
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholds him with His hand.” Psalm 37:23-24
I was taken by the fact that Solomon was so quick to see the deception within the request that Adonijah’s asked Solomon to approve.

  5. David Mainse you look very well, enjoyed the Vlog with you and Ron! I didn`t realize you went to the hospital 2x a week! Praise God for these treatments!
    amen amen amen!
