A grain field on the north shore of the Sea of Galilee.

Key Verse: Matthew 9:37-38 (NKJV)

Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

“CAUTION!” This prayer will change you, your family, your income, your giving, your friends, your church, the use of your time, your character, your personality and everything about you. This is Jesus’ prayer request! As soon as you offer that prayer, you become the answer. You are now called to be a labourer. Please read Isaiah 6:1-8. If you confess that “Jesus Christ is Lord,” you have only one answer, “Here am I, send me!” Never sit around waiting for God to push and pull you into service. Your free will controls the gas pedal and the brakes. Push the “Pedal to the metal” and GO FOR IT!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Lord, I am making decisions; please guide me. I believe that the decisions are from You. Now I will initiate action as Your laborer. Amen!

100 PERSONAL WORDS:

My Dad served as a Missionary (21 years in Egypt), an Educator, and a Pastor. My DNA is serving Jesus. At age 16, Jesus’ laborers surrounded me at school and at my part-time job. I made the decision to give my life to Christ in December of 1952. The following June I had a powerful encounter with the Holy Spirit and in August at a Youth Camp I prayed, “Lord Jesus, I would like to serve You full time for my entire life. Would You please give me a clear call into Pastoral service and as an Evangelist.” He did, and I have “pushed the pedal to the metal” since that time!

Your fellow labourer in the harvest,

David

P.S. Two years ago this month I had a dream come true. I rode the “Billy Graham Parkway” in Charlotte, North Carolina, on my 1996 Honda Gold Wing motorcycle. At the Billy Graham Library, I visited the gravesite of Ruth Graham. Billy, who is 97 now, will be buried beside her if the Lord’s return does not happen first. Billy’s grandson, Will Graham, joined me in Charlotte and we rode our motorcycles to Asheville, where the Billy Graham Retreat Centre, “The Cove,” is located. That was my first motorcycle trip in the U.S.A., and  I enjoyed every minute…praising God and singing as I rode!

Riding down the Billy Graham Parkway in Charlotte, NC, with Will Graham leading the way.

With Will outside the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte. We had a wonderful visit and motorcycle ride together.

  1. Thanks for listening to that still small voice, David. You are awesome—look what you have done for God, with His strength and direction!! He has used you mightily as a wonderful example for all to follow. We are so thankful! Yes, Lord, we are Your laborers. Guide us into Your service so that we will spread Your harvest, on earth, as it is in heaven. God, you are our strength, our righteousness, our salvation. There is nothing we can’t do with You in our lives. You are the rock on which we stand. Saints, please keep my mom, Jean, in your prayers. She had a bad fall this week; thankfully did not break anything but is very sore. Blessings to all, today.

    “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.” Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge.” Psalm 91:1-4

  2. Mt. 9:13b “…for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Jesus came into our midst as a shepherd to guide his sheep. He knew we were lost and needed His guidance, so He gently guided us by example into a better way; a way of holiness and righteousness. He did all of this because of His vast love for all of us, for even as one ‘sheep’ should stray, He would go to the ends of the earth to lead sheep back into the fold. Jesus is that kind of Lord … He endures, He doesn’t give up on us for we are valuable in His sight. I pray that we keep Jesus’ enduring love forever before us, moment by moment, day by day, then perhaps we too could see the immense value and love for lost humankind and offer them the eternal answer …. Jesus.

  3. Praise God David that he allowed your dream to come true – riding your 1996 Honda in the US! what a great experience that must have been for you and a way to celebrate your healing. The visit to the Billy Graham Retreat Centre – must be a remarkable place! May you continue in His service for a long time. Bless you and all your loved ones.

  4. Thanks David for bringing us “Fresh Bread” each and every day. Hope you still ride your Goldwing and enjoy God’s creation as you ride. I ride as well ( a 1985 Goldwing Interstate) so I understand the joy you get from riding. Blessings to you and your ministry.

  5. What a message and that trip looks so exciting David. Yes, you have pushed the pedal to the medal in your surrender and service to the Lord and you’re inspiring! The next door couple each have a motorcycle but it appears to be too risky for me now. When Isaiah spoke words of humility and was cleansed of his sin, he heard the voice of the Lord, “Whom shall I send and who will go for us.? Then I said, “Here I am, send me.”(Isaiah 6:8). May the Lord touch and comfort your mother, Jean, Beverlee. Thank you for your posts! Great photos Reynold, David and dreams come true.

  6. Thank you David for your boldness and pray for safety upon you as you travel. God is with you. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. May the Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. The Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.

You are an honorable, beautiful godly man of the Lord. Bless your heart and pray and praise the Lord for what He is going to do in your continual walk with Him.

  7. I just read a blog by Franklin Graham on Facebook that this would have been his mother’s 96th birthday. Interesting that you should talk about the Grahams today David.

  8. Lord Jesus, Your word says you came to save those that are lost: During this time of Ramadan, Lord I pray for the Muslims who are Lost, I pray that the scales of their eyes would be removed to receive the truth, that You are the Way, the Truth and the Life. In your Mighty Holy Name Jesus I pray. Amen.
