The Church of the Beatitudes was built on the traditional location of Jesus’ Sermon On The Mount.

Key Verse: Matthew 6:33 (NKJV)

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Today’s blog title is from a popular Jamaican song. Perhaps “Be Joyful” would be better, as happiness depends on happenings. You may want to read again Matthew 6:25-33.

Joy depends on your faith that Jesus is present. The Apostle Paul, in Philippians 4:11, shared, “I have learned in whatsoever state I am, there to be content.” Being content has nothing to do with material possessions. Knowledge of God’s love and care is enough. Put God first. He’ll provide employment, business opportunities and Good Samaritans when in trouble. All things we really need will come our way. Trust God. He won’t fail you!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Lord God I pray for health, strength and ambition to do my part and to seek Your daily blessings. I am resolved to trust You for my every need. I ask these mercies in Jesus’ Name. Amen!

100 PERSONAL WORDS:

I was 20 years old. Taking a year off from my theological studies to help establish a new congregation seemed like a good idea. I had determined to spend full time in door-to-door evangelism, teaching God’s Word to children, helping needy people cut and pile wood for heat, and cooking for the coming winter, etc., but I had no regular income. One morning I put cornflakes in my bowl but had no money to buy milk. A couple of spoonfuls of dry cornflakes and I had a full-blown “pity party.” I recovered sufficiently to pray and felt I should walk to the Post Office. The clerk handed me one letter, and guess what? Someone blessed me with $5.00. Milk and even brown sugar sure tasted good on my cereal. Yes, later that year I worked in construction and even as a supply teacher in public school. Everything I truly needed was supplied. God is faithful. He never fails!

Written with love & prayer,

David

  1. Mt. 7:28-29 / Those who heard and witnessed the wisdom of Jesus’ teachings immediately knew that He was someone special, very different from the ordinary teachers or scribes, quite extraordinary in fact. This scripture reveals that Jesus taught with “authority”, of course we who know the whole gospel story also know that He not only taught with authority in the gospels but that he continues to be the “authority” in all things pertaining to our lives today … Immanuel, God with us. I pray that we all come to a true knowledge of the authority of Jesus in our lives and as we make a place for His love in our hearts, that we would give Him supremacy in all we say and in all we do, today and always.

  2. Wonderful scripture, vlog, and inspirational message from you, David. So enjoyable to see and hear you, right here with us! “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Amen! Thank you, dearest saints, for your prayers. I could see hear and feel your love! Wishing you all a blessed day, in the Lord!

  3. A good message for me today. Beginning to wonder where I will live. As a widow not located near family, I need direction from God. I will be content & let Him open the right doors. Must focus upon God.

  5. “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” Those are welcome words for me this morning David as I am worrying, that I will not have sufficient health, strength and ambition as you said David for a possible task ahead. Please pray for me saints as I did not have a very pleasant day yesterday. It’s wonderful that we can share our needs like you did yesterday Beverlee and not feel quilty about it as we are all human and vulnerable to the attacks of the enemy at times, Amen?

    • Amen, Ger. I am sorry you didn’t have a good day, yesterday. I hold you up in the highest of prayer, that God, our Jehovah Jireh Almighty, will bless you with all your needs–and do not fear or worry, because He knows exactly what they are. Rest assured, all will fall into place and will be well for you, fellow saint in the Lord. Thank you dear sister-in-Christ, for your prayers for me.

    • Lord God I pray for Ger for Peace of mind, Your word says “Come unto me, all you that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” Math 11:28.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path.” Prov. 3:5-6
I believe you have read and prayed these scriptures many a time, Ger; but I felt led to insert them as an encouragement to you this day.

  6. I love the video version. I can read the blog and then hear the video. Great idea, especially if someone has vision problems

  7. Starting my 3rd year with you. I am 65 and have known the Lord personally all my life but never managed to read the Bible through in Its entirety until the last 4 years. I very much appreciate your commitment to us and the Lord. I have never missed reading a blog since I started with you and have found them such a blessing. thank-you

  8. May the Lord bless you richly as you are, for the third time bringing the Word which is the Bible to us from the Lord, day by day to readers and listeners. Our hearts are full of gratitude to the Lord for your sensitivity to the needs of Kingdom building and for the gift of your time and energy that you are putting into this. It will be for eternity.

  9. I would like to let you know P. David Mainse that 35 years ago you brought me to the Lord, I was born again at 10:10 in the morning of 1981 Oct, 2nd, I was baptist in water and also received the Holy Spirit, I speak in God’s language. I follow a church since and do what God ask me to do. I’m 71 now and God used me to bring more people to Salvation.

Thank you so much for your TV program in 1981 that saved my Life. God bless you David and wife family. Love you.

    God bless
    Lise

  10. Perhaps 15 years ago a friend gave my wife a book entitled “New Direction” volume1, Bible reading guide with David Mainse this book became my toilet side book, pardon my expression. The book is a daily devotional which became a blessing to me. Anyway about 6 months ago I decided to type David’s name on internet as I new nothing about David other than from this book. Up popped this website and only God knows how I felt at that moment. I will follow along with this 2 yr program and like the photographs as my wife of 42 years and I would like to go to the Holy Land some year. My book is getting worn out and have tried to locate another one but gave up finding one. Oh my, just recall the saying never give up

  11. Please remember to pray for the families who are moving back to Fort McMurray.
They have many clean-up jobs to do, and get every day supplies to start life over again.
Pray for the people to get time for a prayer to heaven, for their spiritual needs as well.
    Thank you. From Aleta.

  12. Thanks so much David for providing this daily blog. I’ve been with you for most of the past two years, and God willing will be making this my devotions for the next two years. May the Lord continue to bless you with good health and strength as you continue in His ministry. My wife and I have been supporters of Huntley street for many years.

  13. The key verse for today makes me think of the song we sang so frequently and with great faith a few years ago: “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His Righteousness and all these things will be added unto you”, Allelujah, Allelujah: “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God”, Allelujah, Allelujah: ” Knock and the door shall be opened unto you!” Allelujah, Allelujiah, Allelujah!!!”

Trusting and leaning on You Lord Jesus in all I do this day and always. Thank you that Your mercies are new every morning. Thank you for this blog, so faithfully provided for us daily. God Bless Pastor David and his family for their faithfulness to provide this Spiritual food to us daily!!! Amen!

  14. Irene I remember learning that song the first time going to a bible camp it is a lovely
song . I said the prayer of salvation at the time , but didn’t really understand what
it meant until later going to a church service you brought some good memories.

  15. I think I mentioned this fact along time ago! David Mainse has been very honest in sharing his experiences, I so appreciated to read this honesty, often times leaders try and be a bit above everyone but not David Mainse, His honesty about experiences in his life has enabled many more to speak very honestly about their feelings, this is crucial for Christians, we need to speak our thoughts to others very openly and should never be jus=dged, in fact, I believe tHe Word of God says something about sharing one another`s burdens! speaking openly and honestly to each other through this blog is doing just that very thing! I hae ceertainly been very open about my mental illness and how it has affected my life, and how God has worked in my life providing me with swimming! That was His miracle!……I`ve shared about my financial concerns; so. please everyone, thank you for sharing your fears, your questions of wondering what to do; what does God want in your life…..I believe that when we share with one another our joys, concerns, problems, and we do this through the unconditionaly love of Jesus Christ, the devil takes off running scared and so he should for the Word of God is stronge, very strong, it pierces our hearts to the very core, thank you Lord for hearing our concerns, for blessing each and every person on this blog, and I sure enjoy the vlog! thank you Lord, thank you!

  16. My wife and I followed you through the first two years of your daily blog but misse year three. With God’s help we will follow you through year 4. God bless you and grant you the opportunity to reach more people through this blog.

  17. Thank you Beverlee and Irene for your loving prayers for me in my struggles. Your prayers have been effective as God has helped me to make some decisions and I am at peace with it. Thank you dear saints for your assurance and encouragement.

  18. Dear David, I am with you for the 2nd time going through the Bible. I have been away so just catching up on the first 3 days. I love the VBlog! Thank you for this wonderful gift you are giving each of us.

  19. God Bless all of you saints. Sah for your honesty of life, Beverlee, Irene, Ger, Lianne, Lois for your daily comments and prayers for each other and for others who from time to time have pray requests. I enjoy the daily choice of music from you Beverlee. This blog has been a blessing for me to read God’s word daily and read the comments from everyone. You have prayed for me as I go through my cancer treatments. I feel tremendously blessed and it is all due to you Rev. David Mainse for your faithfulness to this blog. I pray for your continued good health that God will give you the energy for this daily bread fresh out of the oven.

GOD BLESS each and every reader of this blog.
