Today’s Reading: Revelation 19

The Yad Lashiryon Memorial at Latrun is the Armored Corps’ Memorial Site. The memorial is surrounded by tanks used and captured in Israeli wars. The centrepiece of the Armored Corps is the Wall of Names on which are inscribed the names of all 4,965 fallen soldiers of the Armored Corps from all of modern Israel’s wars. This location is also the site of the Biblical battles of Joshua against the Amorite kings; in the book of Joshua it says: “Sun, stand still upon Giv’on; and moon, in the valley of Ayalon” (Joshua 10:12). In today’s reading we find that the warrior King, Prince of Peace, has a Name written which “No one knew except Himself!” Let us not forget that Jesus was born and lived as a Jew, and that all His disciples and thousands of the early church believers were all Jewish.

Key Verse: Revelation 19:10c

For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

Jim and Kathy Cantelon write today’s 100 Words segment (originally published in Crossroads’ Day Unto Day devotional series)…

Chapter 19 opens with two hymns. One is sung by “great multitude[s] in heaven” praising God for the destruction of “the great prostitute” (verses 1-5). The other is also sung by “a great multitude” to the “Lamb…and His bride” (verses 6-10). Then, after the angelic guide proclaims that “the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy” (verse 10c), the chapter describes the Christ of the Last Days.

John sees Him as a Rider on a “white horse” and His name is “Faithful and True.” His robe is “dipped in blood” and the name that emerges (as John looks at the robe) is “Word of God.” He makes war with “justice” as His motive, and He “strikes down the nations.” His warfare is marked with an intimidating and irresistible “fury” that has its source in “the wrath of God Almighty.” His name is even more than “Faithful and true” and “Word of God” – it is “King of kings and Lord of lords” (verses 11-16).

The chapter concludes with the beast and the false prophet being “thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur” (verse 20). The kings of the earth and all their armies who dared to war against the Lamb in the battle “are killed with the sword that came out of the mouth of the rider on the horse” (verse 21).

Jesus the Lamb is Jesus the King. He is Lord of lords, and all power and authority belong to Him. No one, not even the beast, can resist His fury. But everyone whose name is written in the Book of Life will rest in His Love.

Almighty God, I pray for the grace of New Testament prophecy. May I faithfully tell others of “The testimony of Jesus!” Amen!!!

I’ve mentioned this before, but it bears repeating. The golden rule of understanding the Bible is to “Let the Bible interpret the Bible!” Today’s key verse is an example of that. The Apostle Peter preached on the birthday of the Church, the day of Pentecost, from a text found in Joel 2:28-29. When the 120 believers were filled with the Holy Spirit, they spilled out onto the streets of Jerusalem speaking about “the wonderful works of God” in the languages which the people, who had gathered from all over the world, could understand. This was “the spirit of prophecy!” Peter answered the question, “Whatever could this mean?” Your sons, daughters, young men, old men, male and female servants will have God’s Spirit poured out on them and “they shall prophesy!” The primary and continual sign of keeping filled with God’s Spirit is “Prophecy!” I’ll repeat this again for emphasis. The ongoing evidence of being filled with God’s Spirit is to consistently witness to others of the Person and work of Jesus. Let no one claim to be filled with God’s Spirit if they do not consistently testify of Jesus so that “Whosoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved!” (Read Acts 2:1-24 as the first example of the true nature of New Testament prophecy). Jesus is “KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS!!!” Here was Peter, who, just 50 days earlier, denied Jesus three times. He could not even witness to a waitress who suggested that she saw him in Jesus’ company. Now he is bold, fearless, and very public in giving “The testimony of Jesus!”

Yours for winning the whole world to the One called “Faithful and True,” Who will come “clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called, ‘The Word of God!'” Revelation 19:13),

Here are some of the names of fallen Jewish Israeli soldiers at the Yad Lashiryon Memorial. These people died in fulfillment of the many prophecies of the Bible predicting the establishment of a state called Israel once again in preparation for the rule of the Messiah. The Bible says that Jesus, the Messiah, is coming again and that He “made peace through the blood of His cross” (Colossians 1:20b). The battle in which Jesus gave His life for our “Peace” was fought and won through the resurrection out from among the dead. Let us make His Name known to the whole world!

  1. met young man Jason a husband/father, present home which they rent is being put up for sale, this family needs a home, has 2 children, Jason has very RARE skin disease which has also taken his right cornea, needs it shaved to clear the growth off the cornea but eventually will need a cornea transplant, he worked in the security field, saw horrible things and wanted to get away so moved to the interior, wife has permanent disability, pray for this family, they need a home to live in, they know the Lord, have asked to be put in touch with the Pastor in town, Lord God we pray You will provide everything that this family needs; we pray this in Jesus Name AMEN

      • they live in British Columbia.
I just met Jason tonight, it truly was a God “thing”, normally I don’t go to this place on Wednesday night, but did tonight and someone else commented, “your here on Wednesday?”
I have met many Christians at this place, and it is interesting who is out late at night! I pray for God’s protection also on me and on the people who work at this place…..
        prayers very much appreciated…..

        • I meant the city Jason is living in; where in British Columbia? Where (what kind of a place) did you meet Jason and other Christians at, Sah?

          • I’m not mentioning the place, other than it is in British Columbia and the place where I met all these people is a business that is open at night and many people hang out there especially those of us who have a sleep disorder.
When my sleep issues happened (almost 2 years ago) I hung out around 2:30 – 3:30 a.m. Once the body began to work with my brain, I now go to sleep around 3:30 a.m. and sleep very well for about 7 hours…..again, God knows all about this issue and I truly believe He wanted this for me because I rest very well and I am VERY THANKFUL THAT THIS IS HAPPENING.
I also believe that God has put me in this place where I go because He has put so many Christians in my path, some I speak to for only 1-2 times, but the Holy Spirit will allow people to speak just as the Holy Spirit was present last night when I met Jason!
AGAIN, GOD KNOWS THIS WHOLE SITUATION, please pray for Jason as they need a home as the one they are living in has been put up for sale and it will sell very fast.
I have been blessed to hear some of the most incredible life stories from the employees or customers in this place! I have been blessed to have prayed with many people right in the store!
I come with my own prayer: Lord God please grant me a BIG financial breakthrough! I need to clear my own debts and help family and friends! I pray in Jesus Name AMEN
I`m off to swimming, will stop in to see Jason as I saw his Pastor today on the street, and the Pastor knew Jason was living in this town and was waiting to hear from him and I smiled and I said Ì guess I am the messenger, I will get Jason`s phone number and give it to the Pastor. For me this is a very usual night……I thank God for the experiences I have had all because of my sleep disorder!
I also deal with a Chemical Imbalance and I speak very openly about this illness and again, just at the pool, I meet dozens of people who have the same issue.
I talked with my Pastor and I just might start a support group, maybe 2x a month have a video that is very humorous, something that makes us laugh and maybe have coffee or something, it`s just a thought right now and I did ask God to make the way clear if this is going to happen.

            Gotta go, blessings to all……

    • Yes, Amen! thank You Jesus that You hear this cry and need, thank You for providing all their need In Your Mighty Name Jesus I pray, thank You Jesus, Your Word says You are Jehovah Jirah Our Provider!!!

  2. Daily Audio Bible link.
Listen to the Bible being read by Brian Hardin. It is also an incredible website and has a prayer wall, coffee club, excellent resources. For those with reading obstacles, it allows you to listen to the Bible and hear people who call in, daily. I listen to it repeatedly; is refreshing and keeps me focused in the Word, throughout the day. Thanks David, for putting me onto this site!

  3. Oh, amen!! Such powerful Revelation and further scripture, this morning and truth in our witness about Christ!! Yes, David, here is to winning the whole world!! 4. Hello David,
I enjoy listening to God’s Word almost daily. Thank you VERY MUCH!

I was wondering, after the praise to The Lord Jesus. I always pray to the Father through the Lord Jesus. I praise God, my Father, and thank Him for the gift of His Son but I don’t talk directly to The Lord Jesus. I know HE is also listening. Do you ever talk to Him, Himself. I feel as though HE is missing out on some of the praise. Am I crazy?? What do you do and what should I do?

  5. Thanks for the reminder that we must testify about and to Jesus consistently David. Reminded of the verse, “He must increase, but I must decrease.”(John 3:30). What a testimony to Jesus in this chapter and blog! Thank you for the link Beverlee. What I listened to of Audio Bible I liked. God bless you saints!

  6. Jesus is God. His Name is Higher than any other Name. Just the mention of His Name brings peace. He said He “sticks closer than a brother” and will NEVER leave us! Praise God. Thank you Father for the gift of salvation through Jesus Who agreed to take upon Himself the sins of the world. He’s as close as the mention of His Name. Thank you for Your Word, Father.

  7. I pray for the family needing healing and a home. Heavenly Father, minister to this family according to Your Perfect plan for them. Release Your Healing to them and to Beverlee and others who may be facing such challenges today. Thank you Lord.
