Key Verse: Ezekiel 8:4

And behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, like the vision that I saw in the plain.

The word, “BEHOLD,” means to see, to observe, to watch, to gaze upon, to contemplate, to inspect, and to witness an important sight. What could be more important to behold than “the glory of God!!” Ezekiel 8:16 tells us of 25 men who “were worshipping the sun.”  The Apostle John writes in John 1:14, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we BEHELD His ‘GLORY,’ the ‘GLORY’ as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth!” Paul wrote, “But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with ‘GLORY’ and honour, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone” (Hebrews 2:9). Let’s read of other visions in Isaiah 6:1-5 and Revelation 1:13-18. The Roman Governor, Pontius Pilate, pushed Jesus forward in front of the paid lackeys of the High Priest and exclaimed, “Ecce Homo”…”Behold the man.” In so doing, Pilate focused the gaze of billions of people onto that blood-streaked face of Jesus, and onto the crown of thorns that had been crushed on His brow. Paul wrote these words, “Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith” (read Hebrews 12:1-3).

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

O Jesus…I see You with new insight! I perceive in a greater way today than ever before who You are in all Your GLORY! You outshine the sun! I worship You! I give You my life all over again! Thank You for showing me a glimpse of Your GLORY! I pray that I will always keep You before the eyes of my understanding! In Your Name I pray, Amen!!!

100 PERSONAL WORDS:

While my Dad was still a soldier in the Canadian Army in WWI, he made his lifetime commitment to Jesus as his Saviour and Lord. He was 21 years old when he first received Holy Communion. The next day he was helping his father work in the field. During the day, my Grandpa saw my Dad staring off into space, immobilized, having stopped work for a time. My Grandpa said to him, “Roy, what are you gazing at?” My Dad said that at that moment he saw a vision, looking into Heaven, where he was beholding Jesus in all His Glory. I’ve walked that field thinking of Dad’s vision, wondering if God would give me a vision too. It didn’t happen to me, but as I type this, in a very real way, I am beholding His GLORY in my thoughts, and in my innermost being. I’m being changed from “Glory to Glory!” “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the GLORY of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord!” (2 Corinthians 3:18).

Yours for that daily transformation that the Spirit of the Lord is producing in our lives,

David

  1. Your father was a handsome man, David Mainse! Amen to his vision of Jesus Christ! I can imagine he was never the same after that. God’s blessings on all saints. Wishing you a beautiful day, in our Lord!

“O people of God, be great believers! Little faith will bring your souls to heaven, but great faith will bring heaven to your souls.” Charles H. Spurgeon

“His grace is great enough to meet the great things
The crashing waves that overwhelm the soul,
The roaring winds that leave us stunned and breathless,
The sudden storm beyond our life’s control.

His grace is great enough to meet the small things
The little pin-prick troubles that annoy,
The insect worries, buzzing and persistent,
The squeaking wheels that grate upon our joy.”

This link runs into Lauren Daigle… beautiful!

  2. I agree your father was a handsome man , and you do look like him. My dad
was in WW2 he was a captain who did dental work on the soldiers . I think he
had thoughts were that he wanted to be upfront at times.

  3. While he yet spake, behold a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, ;This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased: “HEAR YE HIM”. Matt 17:5) The solution to the worlds problems is found in these 3 words -” HEAR YE HIM”. God in HIS infinite mercy, spoke to HIS SON (WHO is GOD) in the flesh and Jesus did only those things which pleased HIS Father.
Similarly, your dad saw a vision from our heavenly Father which had a profound influence on his life which obviously affected your life – David, and we are the beneficiaries of your faithfulness.THE SON OF GOD BECAME A MAN TO ENABLE MEN TO BECOME SONS OF GOD.
Rev. Terrence J. Felvus – Grassie On.

    • Pastor David I agree with what pastor Terry said about you. We are the beneficiaries and I so glad that we are. Bless you and all bloggers.

  4. From Glory to Glory He’s changing me/us…Praise His Holy Name!!

Yes, handsome you are…much resemblance to your Dad…Praise God for the guidance you had from your parents…and now we are benefiting in and through it. Thank You Lord for your servant David and his family…may they continue to be refreshed and strengthened in You Jesus. Amen!

  5. It makes one wonder why some people have visions and not others. A lady I know was sitting outside on a summer day with a disabled relative looking up at the beautiful blue sky. They both admired it and the lady said out loud. God where are You? She said I know You are in the third heaven but where are You? She attended a small Bible reading and prayer the next day (a usual habit) when she felt the Spirit on her. Expecting the others to feel it also, she mentioned it. The others did not respond. The gathering was finished and she got up and left the room and was “slain in the Spirit” in the next room (to her surprise). Returning home she turned on her computer and a song came up: “He Came To Me” (with lyrics) by John Starnes. The song has such words as, “you could not come to where I am so I came to you”! John Starnes is in heaven now but God used his singing to bring a blessing to Millie that day. What a Wonderful experience for her.

  6. Thanks for your faithfulness ,and I commend your sons for helping to keep your blog going , it is a daily blessing but HIs Glory has new meaning after todays blog- the Lord is right here with me and I am weeping as He loves me. love you in our Lord Jesus- see you in all his Glory soon- Hallelujah
    Kathy

  7. My mom grieved the loss of her baby boy at the age of 2 (my brother) he used to sing a song “give me land, lots of land, give me starry skies above, don’t fence me in” I was 5. I remember my mom at the funeral, she had a break down, life was never the same….my dad (who was already predisposed to alcohol) began heavy drinking and I was told that my mom wished i had died instead of my brother Ronny, my dad was very out of control and he made no bones about hitting me or slapping me whenever he could and it’s rather funny, but I didn’t understand the emotions they were going through and I missed my brother, we played together all the time…..so…..
on day my mom mentioned that she had seen Jesus at the foot of her bed and He told her that her son was with Him in Heaven and my mom’s mood changed alot after that vision!
Later when I was around 13 or so, we were all fishing at a Lake and I decided to run home, a distance of about 25 miles. I was running a steady gait and I was singing as I was running and about half way through the run I came to a very nice corner, it was full of saskatoon and chokecherry bushes and I always used to stop and eat a bunch of berries in the summer and there in the middle of the road I say Jesus, He was similing and His eyes were so clear and He was was looking right at me; I kept runniing and I had a good feeling inside even though life was scary with my dad and his drinking and other family members drinking, I was just a kid, and i didn’t understand grown up ways but after that encounter left me with some courage to fight off any abuse. I think about the time in my life alot! I am thankful I am here; I am thankful that the rough life I grew up with in many ways has had a very positive impact on my life and it helps me t
    understand others a bit clearer!
Eph 4:22; set your mind and keep it set on things from above, renew your mind and attitude daily….God loves un unconditionally; God will NEVER forsake us or leave us….
