PRAISE IS BEAUTIFUL!

Today’s Reading: Psalms 147

Click scripture link to read online or HERE to listen online (then click the symbol of the audio speaker above the scripture portion).

The sun burst over the unique sandstone topography in Timna Park in the Jordan Valley in Isreal. Such a scene should cause us to think of our Mighty Creator! It is most appropriate that the first and last words of today’s reading would be, “PRAISE THE LORD!”

Key Verses: Psalm 147:3-5

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name. Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite!

Our Creator not only created the stars, but He has a name for each one. Even with all our modern technology, astronomers have never been able to see all the stars and number them. Only our infinite God understands the vastness of the universe. Even though He is great in power, He is even greater in His care for His creation and, in particular, for us! He comes to us and heals the broken-hearted and binds up our wounds! We must remember that this Great Lord made us in His image, and therefore, He will not interfere unless invited to do so by those He put in charge of this world. That’s us! God chose the ancient Israelites to receive His Word for the entire human family, and through them we have been given the Word of God which we read every day. With this privilege comes an awesome responsibility…to do everything in our power to make sure the whole world would hear of the mercies and judgements of our holy and loving God.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

I am reminded, O God, in each Psalm I read that You are great! I marvel that You, the Creator of the universe, are so concerned about me as an individual. I pray for Your Spirit to so fill me that I will be able to effectively communicate Who You are to others. There is one person to whom I should speak today, and when the opportunity presents itself, may I be faithful and effective in sharing Your Word to that one, and others, by my words, my actions, and my giving. In the name of the One who did this 100% of the time, Jesus Christ. Amen!!!

100 PERSONAL WORDS:

I have the honour of being called “Founder” by the men and women of God who currently lead Crossroads. Our websites 100huntley.com and Crossroads360.com websites carry the daily 100 Huntley Street television show. I call this a “show” because we want to “show” the great God of the universe, who “heals the broken-hearted and binds up their wounds.” If anyone missed yesterday and wants to view that telecast, just click (here). We, as a human family, must understand that the majority of the inhabitants of earth have made it clear that they don’t want God involved in their lives. God is not a dictator. He is a lover! His great heart is broken! We’ve rejected His love. We’ve taken prayer and the Bible out of our public schools and much of the public square. Ever since our first human parents, we’ve separated ourselves from God and from His maintenance of creation over which he gave us dominion. Thus nature is left on its own, and the result is disaster after disaster. It’s our fault, not God’s. Therefore, we must respond. Crossroads provides ways to help (click here).

Yours for reaching out to others with God’s unending love,

David

  1. Beautifully put David, thank you for your faithfulness and teaching.
I pray too that I may be a useful vessel for God, through Jesus our Savior. Amen

  2. Thank you David and the Crossroads family for reaching out to us with the message of God’s love, mercy, and faithfulness. You are a blessing to so many. May we all take this message to our world. Praise the Lord.

  3. It’s so sad to remember all the young people who died to keep our country safe and free. Praise our Lord that we do remember and never forget the reasons wars are fought.
Found this lovely video to help brighten our day. This concerns families that pray together:

    Blessings.

  4. Thank you for the 24 hour prayer lines, David. What you have built for God’s Kingdom, on earth as it is in heaven, is such a gift for all of us who call them. Blessings, fellow saints!

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”
    John 7:37-38

“The most saintly spirits are often existing in those who have never distinguished themselves as authors, or left any memorial of themselves to be the theme of the world’s talk; but who have led an interior angelic life, having borne their sweet blossoms unseen like the young lily in a sequestered vale on the bank of a limpid stream.”

  5. Thank you Pastor David for this daily ministry, for the link of yesterday’s 100Huntly Street program. I did watch yesterday, as well as today.

    To combat the spirit of heaviness that I fought yesterday; after a friend prayer for me, it lifted;
this morning the song that came to me is from Isaiah 61:3 to appoint those who mourn ” He gave me beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for morning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that we might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord that He might be glorified.”
also Isaiah 61:10 “I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me with the garment of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness”
I pray the Joy of the Lord be your strength this day Pastor David and all your family members who are involved in presenting this daily manna:
    and to all bloggers.

  6. Agree with you David, we need to be ambassador for Christ, to let the whole world know of His mercies and the judgments to come! Thank you David for this blog and fellow bloggers for all you share. Was a very meaningful message yesterday from the Dutch pastor about his father ending up in a Nazi concentration camp and his father-in-law protecting himself by jumping in the water and breathing through a reed for a time.

  7. Thank you for all your blogs, David!! They are wonderful.!
I would like to mention that all knowledge and power come from God , including “” Technology” so it is almost: amusing” but really quite serious that ANYONE
can think of disassociating the Good Lord from all Good works when He is in everything!
We have to remember this and stand and speak strong to others, also, by our lifestyles to show our faith in the Lord.. Faith is words and Deeds!
JESUS told us ” Do not be hearers of the Word only but be Doers of te Word also.

    Blessings,

    Margaret

  8. please pray the British Columbia will not change the time in the fall anymore!
