Here we see the Brazen Altar and Brazen Laver in the outer court of the Tabernacle. This life-sized replica is situated at Timna National Park in Israel.

Key Verse: Exodus 26:30

And you shall raise up the tabernacle according to its pattern which you were shown on the mountain.

The Tabernacle was the place in which God was present in a special way. We, the believers, are now His special dwelling place on earth. The Apostle Paul quotes the Hebrew Scriptures to drive home this point (2 Corinthians 6:16). God gave an exact design for the Tabernacle with precise measurements, using specific materials. For example, He gave such attention to detail in the instructions for making and hanging the curtains. The veil which separated the Holy of Holies from the rest of the Tabernacle shows us that we are separated from God. Remember that when Jesus died, the veil was torn from top to bottom so that there is no longer any separation for those that believe in Jesus (read Matthew 27:50-53).

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Dear Lord Jesus, please help me to be diligent to follow Your instructions for building my life. Thank You that I am Your modern-day tabernacle. I need to know Your plans for me, and I thank You for the grace and discipline to read and follow Your instructions most carefully. In Your Name I pray, Lord Jesus. Amen!

100 PERSONAL WORDS:

From the time our son Ron was 6 or 7, he was the designated instruction reader in our family when something arrived that needed assembling. Come to think of it, he is the first one to read my daily blogs too before they are posted for you, the reader. I’ve received much practical help from Ron and his wife Ann. You can watch them daily on TV this week. They are hosting 100 Huntley Street. My least favourite job is hanging curtains! You can ask Norma-Jean. I’m embarrased to tell you that I complain while I’m up on the step stool trying to get it right while Norma-Jean is giving the instructions. I’m even more embarrased to confess to you that I have often complained to God about His instructions for the details of my life. Sorry, Lord!! I’ve asked God’s forgivness in the past and I, no doubt, will do so in the future. Also, Norma-Jean, I’ve asked your forgivness in the past for complaining, and if we move again and I’m able to get up on that step stool, I’ll probably have to ask your forgiveness again. I love you!

Yours for following the instructions,

David

  1. Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord God almighty, who was and is and is to come. Thank You, Jesus. We are no longer separated from our God, You, or the Holy Spirit because of Your sacrifice for us. Amen!

Saints, a special prayer request. Please pray for my nephew, Jon, who is at a crossroads in his life. Lord God, please come into his life and open all the doors that will lead him on the right path. Give him strength and protection. In Jesus precious Name, amen.

  2. Lord, help us to follow your instructions for our lives as we see in David and Ron and Ann in this blog. Amen Beverlee to your prayer for your nephew Jon that he will come through victoriously. Could I ask you to pray for my appointment with the eye specialist today that I will not get any negative reports just a change of glasses. In Christ’s name. Amen.

  3. It is wonderful how our Lord leads us each step of the way. But, sometimes (just sometimes) I can use the help of a skilled craftsman. Like installing my garage door opener. Or, fixing a leaky crack in our foundation. No, it’s not laziness, or the absence of duct tape. I just need help. I like how Our Lord left specific instructions to use skilled craftsmen, embroiders and bronze workers in today’s reading. Sure, I can do it myself, but thank God for help! His strength and blessings, to all!

  4. Dear Father I pray for Beverlee’s dear nephew Jon that you by your Holy Spirit will draw this young man to yourself. You are not willing that any should perish, give this young man a desire to seek you, and dear Father, I pray that you will give Ger a good report when she goes to the eye specialist today. I have been reading your book David and I have no doubt that God works through his people to heal and to restore lives. I have cried and laughed as I was reading and I thank you for being so humble, to God be the Glory great things He has done through you. Amen.

  5. 2 Corinthians 6:16New King James Version (NKJV)

16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you[a] are the temple of the living God. As God has said:

    “I will dwell in them
    And walk among them.
    I will be their God,
And they shall be My people.”[b]

Amen! Glory to God in the highest!

    Blessings blog friends.

  6. Such explicit instructions for the tabernacle! Thank you for your explanation of the true meaning Rev. DM. We all complain whether instructions are from parents, spouses or God. Thankfully, all are capable of forgiving us and the One who counts the most, will ALWAYS forgive if we ask.
A blessing and joy to hear of Israel’s peace once again.
    Blessings dear souls.

  7. Prayer for Jon & Ger. I laughed with you, David Mainse, when you talked about hanging curtains and totally identify with the frustration of doing this. Curtains and wall pictures. Thank God for wives who love us – but most of all, for the God who understands our humanity. “He knows our frame, he remembers we are dust”..but He is gracious, full of compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. (Psalm 103). Special prayers for Jon and Ger. Psalm 34:1-4. There is a teachers strike in B.C. Praying that the ‘sides’ will come to a compromise so students can start school on time. Pray for my grandson, Jacob, as we work out a change of school and a smooth adjustment and able to link up with some good friends. God is good and our trust is in the Lord. Samuel

  8. David,

I never liked hanging curtains, or hanging pictures either. I was sick for an extended period of time during which I was able to do very little, and I didn’t know if I would ever be able to walk again. I am grateful to say that I am getting better, and I am walking. I now find myself thanking God for allowing me to regain the ability to do things I once complained about doing. When I am doing things I’m tempted to complain about, I remember when I was lying in bed, wishing I could have everything I took for granted back. I also think of the many people who are too sick, or physically disabled to do something as simple as clean their homes, and I’m grateful that I’m physically able to do something seemingly annoying, like hang curtains or pictures, wash dishes, vacuum, etc..

  9. It’s funny reading about curtains! I’m embarrased to say but I desperately need curtains I am using cardboard please pray for an increase to my income to fix some things up in my home and vehicle thank you

  10. Just a note to let you know that we haven’t received the last 2 days of our 100 words to our inbox. Could you please check into this and restart the delivery?
Thank You. We look forward to receiving our daily bread.

  11. Thank you Lord, your word says in Ps 23:3..You lead me on paths of righteousness for Your Name’s sake, I pray I will not stray off that path Oh Lord
I pray this in Your Holy Name Jesus. Amen!

  12. I love how detailed The Lord is, and it makes me want to do better in managing the smallest of details which I sometimes procrastination about because I do not want the project not to be perfect!,, We all have little things we do not like but it is important to be thankful when we can still manage to do them.

Have noted prayer requests for Jon, Ger ( I trust all went well with eye specialist) and for Sah’s needs to be met.

  13. Not to seem harsh or severe, but with the real challenges facing so many in war torn areas and the areas affected by flood, earthquake, fires, we are really blessed to have windows that need curtains! Really blessed. I pray for Ger’s eyes (just had 2 cataracts myself) & Beverlee’s nephew. Also remembering the one with depression. Curtains were IMPORTANT features in the Tabernacle

  14. Thank you for your faithful prayers Patricia, Lynda, Eleanor M. Wilma, Rosemarie, Samuel Fame ( I pray your grandson Jacob finds the right school for him and adjusts well), Catherine and Doreen. All went well and I am getting new glasses. God is faithful, Amen?
