YOUR TREASURE CHEST

Located in Nazareth, the first century "Nazareth Village" re-enacts life from 2,000 years ago.

Key Verse: Matthew 12:35

“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.”

It was 4:00 a.m. and there it was…City of Toronto garbage truck #100 stopped on Jarvis Street picking up garbage. Just the morning before on the 100 Huntley Street TV show, we had suggested that everyone put the accumulation of their life’s “garbage” out at the curb and Jesus would take it away. Any evil things you treasure will eventually destroy you if you fail to get rid of them. As you join me daily in reading the Word, you’ll know what is evil and what is good. This blog is good treasure. Store up the good things consistently every day. You’ll bless others and yourself with good things!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Dear Jesus, forgive me for all the sin and wrong I’ve done. I put all these things out of my life. You promised to take away all my sin. Thank You! I treasure the good things You’ve given me. I will bring them out to bless others. Amen!

100 PERSONAL WORDS:

Before moving to Burlington, Ontario, our TV studios were located in downtown Toronto. Every morning at approximately 4:00 a.m., I would drive up Jarvis Street for my early morning time in God’s Word and in prayer. I had committed to spend at least an equal time in prayer and the Word as I would spend that day on live TV (90 minutes). During the drive, a huge billboard faced me with a picture of a scantily clad woman. I was angry. I wanted only to think of my beautiful wife. After a couple of days of putting those evil thoughts “out at the curb,” I would deliberately look to the other side of the street before that billboard appeared and would pray fervently for the people of the night, that our Nite-Lite show — on ’til 4:30 a.m. — would reach their hearts with the love of Jesus!

May God bless you with lots of GOOD today,

David

P.S. If you’ve been reading the blog over the past few days, you’ll know I’m riding my 1996 Honda Gold Wing motorcycle back to Canada from Florida. Yesterday morning was the highlight of the entire trip. Around 8:30 a.m. I was cleaning and polishing the bike, getting ready for the day’s ride, when a lady approached me saying, “I have three sons and all of them have motorcycles. I said that motorcycles can be dangerous, and I asked her if her boys were ready for Heaven if they had an accident. She said, “No they are not!” Then I said, “Are you ready for Heaven? Do you know Jesus as your Saviour?” She said, “I go to church sometimes, but I don’t think I’m ready to meet God.” I asked, “Would you like to be ready?” “Yes,” she said. Then I invited her to pray after me to ask forgiveness of her sins and to invite Jesus to live in her life. She prayed a heartfelt prayer with me and God gave her the assurance that she was ready for Heaven. We then joined together to pray for her sons. I gave her a card advertising this blog. To this precious sister in Jesus I say, “Tomorrow, God willing, I’ll put the way to know you are saved, and ready for Heaven, right here in my P.S. Try to share this with your sons one at a time. Pray with them as I did with you. They too can know that they are safe for all eternity. Oh Yes, and tell them that an old man who rides a motorcycle is praying for them every day. God bless you!!!”

It was raining cats and dogs on the road yesterday, so I decided to spend the night at this little motel off I-90 between Erie, Pennsylvania, and Buffalo, NY. God willing, I'll cross the Peace Bridge into Canada today!

  1. To the sister, David Mainse speaks of, in this morning’s post, the Lord bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you. The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
and give you peace (Num 6:24-26). Thank you, David, for leading this mother into the Kingdom, and for setting the example for us to follow. Lord God, I lift up the three precious motorcycle sons of our sister, to You, and ask that they confess their sins, lay them down at the cross, and accept YOU into their lives. We seek their protection and loving grace as they travel the roads of the great land of America–free in Your Spirit and Will. Thank You Lord, for Your loving grace and blessing upon us all. In Jesus precious, mighty and all powerful name, we pray. Amen, amen, and amen!!

Praying for the blessings of angels’ wings to surround and protect you and your documentary crew with a glow of white light, David! Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us on the blog and bringing others to come to know and be saved by Jesus along the way!

Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath. He is God’s chosen Servant, in whom He loves, and is delighted. He is our Saviour, Redeemer, and Risen King!! Oh, Saints, the blessing of the Lord is upon us in the gift of Jesus!! The Spirit has been put upon Him to proclaim justice to the nations. He is our example to follow. Without quarreling or crying out, He has brought justice through to victory. In His mighty and majestic name, we put our hope (Mt 12:18-21). We live by our faith in You, Jesus. Though our journeys may be different, we follow the same path with You as guide of our lives, dear Lord!! For those of us who love this weather, even though our bodies are achey and sorer for the wear, the cold spring rainy weather is a haven for artists as it sets the sultry mood to paint and drink tea and smell the wet air! Praise God for the beauty! Blessings dear fellow saints in the Lord!! May each one of you be lifted up today with angels’ wings!!

  2. Lord, You have given us hope and meaning in our life. By calling upon Your Name, we have forgiveness and Your assurance of eternal life. “And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life” 1John:11,12 God Loves Us All! Safe journey home today, David!

    • Amen and Amen!! Thank You Lord for granting me the previledge to know you and be part of this wonderful blog with all these men and women of God to learn from and share with. Amen

      • I also love to be inspired by the beautiful caring prayers and lifestyles that you practice, David and other Bloggers.I so look forward to Reynold’s photos. It brings back memories of places seen with David and Norma Jean last November on the tour of Israel. What a special time that was. Thank you all.

  3. Rain has a way of washing away the smog in the air. It refreshes and brings on new growth in life. I have been to the top of the mountain (alone with my maker) and seen the sun reflecting it’s light off a great ship in the ocean some 70 miles away – all because the rain cleansed the air of smog the night before…

May the reading of today’s Holy Word and wondrous blog refresh us Lord Jesus and bring new life into our spirits, souls, hearts, minds, flesh, and blood… for Your Honour and Your Glory Jesus! Amen!

    • Amen and Amen! Thank you for giving me a different perspective about rain. now instead of seeing d heavy drops of rain as a sign of ‘Bad Weather’ , i will see it as a way of ”washing away the smog in the air”. Amen! stay blessed

  4. Mathew 12:35-37
“35 A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. 36 But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. 37 For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”
i already copied this verse to share before i noticed it was the same verse that was our key verse. I decided to share it anyways because it speaks to me. may the Good Lord through this blogg and positive people around us, fill us with Positive thoughts in the mornings, so will be able to share these positive thoughts and spirit with others and lead them to the right path in Jesus Name!! Amen! Stay blessed Fellow bloggers and i kindly ask that you all join me in praying for the speedy recouvery of my ‘husband to be’s Boss as he lays in the hospital sick. He is a good and God fearing man. Thank you as you take your time to remember him in your prayers. God bless you all! Amen

  5. What a journey you are having David! Experiencing the Lord’s strength and joy and leading that precious lady to Him. Had to look at your pic again from yesterday on your red Honda and rejoice and praise God! Gives us encouragement to get up and running in the will of God. Claim this verse for you “For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.”(Ps. 91:11) as you return home. Blessings saints!

  6. David, I love the way God gives you opportunities to share Jesus and pray with others and how obedient you are in doing so. You are an inspiration to me! Such a reminder to keep my eyes open for these opportunities in my life as well. God bless you and your love of Christ – and thank you for this daily blog!!

  7. I am so thankful to be able to read God’s Word freely and pray for the persecuted church today. Mat God grant them angels to safely guide them.

How precious to have led that dear lady to Jesus and I pray her sons will do the same. May she grow in wisdom and knowing she is loved by The Saviour.
Thank you Pastor David for sharing and I thank God for the opportunities He has given you on your journey. Praying safety for you and the crew as you journey towards Canada!!!

  8. David-You are truly an inspiration!!! Looking forward to seeing you and Norma-Jean again in our trip to the Holy Land this November!-don/shelia persaud

  9. Such a beautiful, bright, picture of the depiction of Jewish village life and the beautiful Jordan River. The colours are so vibrant. I don’t expect to be a visitor to the Holy Land and so it is so enjoyable to view the photography. Thanks Reynold.

  10. Finally got my computer sort of fixed.
Now I know why Jesus told healed people to not say anything to anyone else when he healed them. To fulfill Isaiah’s prophecy.
I pray you make it home safe and sound today Rev. Mainse. What a joy it must have been to talk with the lady about her two sons and bring them all to Jesus.
I love the rain – a gift from God for my garden:)
Blessings on us all this fine, fine day.

  11. Dear Rev. David M.
Like many i so appreciate Reynolds beautiful pictures in the village of Nazareth.
I always say that Jesus is the GREATEST CONDUCTOR of our life and the way He is making it possible for you to reach the unsaved is so awesome . So Lord use each of us as Your messengers of the Greatest News of all , salvation and eternity in the presence of THE FATHER, THE SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT. Amen, Amen.

Keeping all of you in prayer .

Like the rain removes the smog in the air, may The Word of Jesus remove the evil from our lives.

Have a blessed day fellow saints.
    xoxoxo Carole

  12. “hope the cats and dogs”:) didn’t rain too long so that you were able to continue on your journey. I wonder how that saying came into existence?
On a serious note:…its so great to read your testimony about the lady you led to Christ, a new born into the Kingdom of God!! and my pray is for salvation for her three sons. Praise God for His faithfulness and for your faithfulness Rev. David Mainse.

May Our Lord Jesus Christ continue to strengthen you and keep you safe on your journey home.
