LOOK

Suggested Reading: Isaiah 45-46

Click scripture link to read online or HERE to listen online (then click the symbol of the audio speaker above the scripture portion).

God's handiwork is beautifully on display in Meteora, Greece. The fall colours and the cliffs make for a spectacular view. You can also see some of man's achievements as you look high atop the cliffs at the Monasteries. Such a scene makes one wonder how some people can miss doing as our key verse says, "LOOK"!!!

Key Verse: Isaiah 45:22

Look to Me, and be saved,

All you ends of the earth!

For I am God, and there is no other.

God’s credentials for making such a statement as we read in our key verse are clearly presented here. (1) God revealed the name of Cyrus, the king of Persia (Iran), before he was born, who would restore the slaves from Babylon (Iraq) to Jerusalem to rebuild the Temple and the walls of Jerusalem after he had conquered Babylon. Only God knows the future! Back up to Isaiah 44:25. God “frustrates the signs of the babblers, and drives the diviners mad!” Thus God says, “Look unto Me and be saved!” (2) He reveals His right to say those Words by His creation and maintenance of nature (Isaiah 45:8b), “I, the Lord, do all these things.” Our key verse is repeated for emphasis in 45:22, “Look to Me and be saved…” As we continue to read Isaiah, we will come across dozens of personal pronouns such as He, Him, Whom, etc. Only one Name can be exchanged for those pronouns. Read Hebrews 2:9-10!

This emphasis is continued in Isaiah 46:9-10, “Remember the former things of old, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure.'”

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Lord God, the message to “Look…and be saved” must be shared with the entire world. I pray for wisdom, vision, determination and opportunity to tell people everywhere how to be saved!!! In the Name of the One who lived, died, and rose from the dead to provide salvation, I pray. Amen!!!

100 PERSONAL WORDS:

I take personally the commission of Jesus to believers to “Go into all the world (ends of the earth) and preach the Gospel (Good News) to every creature. There have always been missionaries willing to risk health, life, material possessions, everything! I ask myself, “Could I have done more to support these people?” I answer, “Yes!” I’m determined more than ever to pray, give, and even go! Crossroads, the sponsor of my blog, is literally reaching to the ends of the earth as I type this. Check out some of the ways Crossroads Christian Communications is making God’s message available around the world and expressing His love in very practical ways (click here). I’ll just mention one aspect of Crossroads’ efforts to reach “every creature.” Our School of Broadcasting and Communications has graduates in 82 countries of the world, sharing the Gospel in many languages. My wife and I are committed to supporting these kinds of efforts, as well as many other initiatives, for as long as we live, and if Jesus does not return before our passing, through our last will and testament!

Yours for telling everyone to “Look…and be saved!!!”

David

  1. Thanks for sharing the link. Christian Crossroads certainly fulfills the mandate of reaching out and providing practical and spiritual assistance and service worldwide! A very worthy and accountable charitable ministry corporation, indeed!

In today’s reading, one can see the existential frustration and “woe” in those who strive with their maker. Those who are surrounded by creation, the end intelligent result in creation and it’s inherent beginning, yet arrive at non-creationist theory. Isaiah 9 speaks to this notion in simple terms:
    9

    • 45:9 “Woe to him who strives with his Maket!
Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth!
Shall the clay say to him who forms it, ‘What are you making?’
Or shall your handiwork say, ‘He has no hands’?
10 Woe to him who says to his father, ‘What are you be getting?’
Or to the woman, ‘What have you brought forth?'”

Moreover, to know our Creator knows every aspect about His creation, least of which is our names. This is an awesome planet, an awesome universe and Devine Creation! Thank you, Lord!

  2. I always enjoy and learnfrom your ministry and thank God our father for all his handiwork and I want to serve Him all the days of my life

  3. How can we not see the creation of our Lord’s handiwork in the beautiful picture from Reynold, thank you.

Another amazing passage to affirm who Our God and Saviour is.

Thank you Lord that we are special to you and you have a divine plan for each of us as your children.

  4. I love the Isaiah readings. There’s no way we could confuse the fact that God loves us and is God. Excited about your announcement to the world today David. That alone should help souls to sit up and take notice.
Thank the good Lord for you, your loving wife and your whole family.

  5. Honestly if Crossroads doesn’t make a book out of this blog, then please, please, please make a coffee table book of Reynold’s photos with the key verse from each day underneath. The pictures are just stunning and go so perfectly with the verse, to have them in book form to enjoy daily would be an encouragement and a way to uplift anyone’s spirit. I know if such a book was available next Christmas, I would definitely buy some to give as gifts. And a book like that would fulfill the mandate of today’s verse of looking at God– because when I see I look at this pictures I see the Holy Spirit working through the creativity of very gifted photographer.

  6. Your jaw dropping news this morning David is a testament to the power of prayer. Yes,I believe you’ve been through much in the way of medical interventions, but, best of all, many prayers flow your way continually. Fifteen more years!!! Yes,let’s pray for that. Many blessings David.Your example to us all fills me with hope. Thank you.

  7. Isaiah’s writings and your blog, David and photos, Reynold have stirred my heart in the last couple days even though I have not blogged. Isaiah 45:2-3 has been a special verse to me and I too want to be His witness. “Look unto Me, and be saved All you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.”(Isaiah 45:22). Have a blessed day everyone.

  8. I really appreciate the fact that you take your time to begin any noun or pronoun referring to our Lord and Saviou in capital letters. God bless you sir. Seeing other people, bibles and post begin with small letters, really makes me uncomfortable.

  9. God’s grace is sufficient. To Christ people from every nation come for blessings. Rejoice in Him as our Friend and our Portion for He alone is Our Righteousness. God’s faithful Love abides forever!

  12. I just watched 100 Huntley St. and have to say David Mainse you look great to quote what the Dr. said “Jaw Dropping and Remarkable” and it shows God is still in the business of miracles. I’ve ordered the book Daniels Plan and must say I have already made some small changes and once again excited about getting on the right track. God Bless! Adele

  13. Praise GOD.
By the word of your testimony, the blood of the lamb and you loved not your life unto death we see GOD’S miracle standing before us. Praise HIS name forever.
A while back I had a dream about brother David. He was coming towards a camp being run in a dessert with orphan children. We were raising poultry, gardening and learning to live off the land. A big happy family.
It came to pass that as we sat down for nourishment we could see a stranger coming towards the farm, dusty, hungry and weary. As this man drew closer we could see it was Brother David. We fed him and gave a place to rest.
I shall never forget what I saw when he sat at our table to eat. I looked deep in his eyes and I could see many things he had yet to do for the LORD.
I came to realize that Brother David would live to complete the LORD
call on his life. I am not surprised to hear this powerful testimony.
OUR GOD REIGNS FOREVER! GLORY TO HIS WONDERFUL NAME!
I do believe we shall see a healing revival across the land in the days to come.
The LORD has provided HIS word and much magnificent teaching to empower the body to believe for everything written in the WORD.
Our prayers continue for Brother David.
Psl 107:2***Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the adversary

  14. Reynold’s picture is beautiful. They are much appreciated. I am also thankful when you tell us where countries talked about in the Bible are now, such as Iraq was Babylon and Iran was Persia. Both these things help in making God’s Word alive to us. May The Lord continue to bless you as you write this blog and bless Crossroads as it shares the gospel of our Precious Lord Jesus to the whole world. To God be the glory!
