The Western Wall Tunnel is an underground tunnel exposing the full length of the Western Wall and is located under the buildings of the Old City of Jerusalem. While the open-air portion of the Western Wall is approximately 60 metres (200 ft) long, the majority of its original length is hidden underground. The tunnel allows access to an additional 485 metres (1,591 ft) of the wall.

Key Verse: 1 Kings 6:12

Concerning this temple which you are building, if you walk in My statutes, execute My judgments, keep all My commandments, and walk in them, then I will perform My word with you, which I spoke to your father David.

Solomon had almost finished building the Temple when the Word of the Lord came to him once again. God had given Solomon wisdom and all the benefits that came as a result. Now comes the pinnacle promise: “I will perform My Word with you.” God has given us many promises in His Word. The timing for their fulfillment is in His timing, not ours. This restatement of the promise God had given to David came approximately 10 years after Solomon became king. When we read a promise that God has made to us as His children, we have a very human tendency, like little children, to want gratification right away. We must avoid trying to manipulate God’s action by His promises. He will do what He will do when He decides to do it. This is why we are exhorted to “wait on the Lord.” In Psalm 27:13-14 David tells us twice to “wait.” We can draw great encouragement from verse 13: “I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” No doubt Solomon read his father’s writings. He may even have sung these words as a boy while David played his harp. Let’s make God’s promises our DNA instructions for living. Amen!

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Lord God, I pray for greater growth in the Fruit of the Spirit. Patience, and all the other flavours of the Fruit of the Spirit is absolutely essential. Therefore, I’m waiting on Your timing. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!

100 PERSONAL WORDS:

Back in 1972 we produced and released something called “The Grey Cup Christian Celebration.” Our Crossroads offices were in Hamilton, and the Grey Cup Championship of the Canadian Football League was to be in our home stadium. I became convinced we needed to use the occasion for a testimony for Christ. On the Saturday before the game, we did two services in the MacMaster gymnasium-auditorium complex. We brought in big name football players from the NFL, as well as Canadian football stars. Dale Evans was there. Art Linkletter was there. The Imperials sang. Astronaut Jim Irwin, who was just back from the moon, was also there. All testified to their faith in Christ. Prime time television was purchased all across Canada for the one-hour TV special. It was a first for Canadian TV. Everything was going very well until it came time to pay the bills. The bank loaned us the money we needed, but then came the payments to the bank. I wrote out one of God’s promises in large handwriting and placed the paper in my middle desk drawer on top of everything else. Every day (sometimes several times) I would open the drawer and read, “MY GOD SHALL SUPPLY ALL YOUR NEED ACCORDING TO HIS RICHES IN GLORY BY CHRIST JESUS” (Philippians 4:19). It took two years to pay off the debt. In God’s time it was accomplished. I was learning lessons that would be a big help to my faith in the years to come.

Yours for God’s timing,

David

The biggest stone in the Western Wall, often called the Western Stone, is also revealed within the tunnel and ranks as one of the heaviest objects ever lifted by human beings without powered machinery. The stone has a length of 13.6 metres (45 ft), height of 3 metres (9.8 ft), and an estimated width of between 3.5 metres (11 ft) and 4.5 metres (15 ft). Estimates place its weight at 570 short tons (510 long tons).

This portion of the wall where you see a walkway is now underground in Jerusalem. To the right you can see where today visitors can go up to the Western Wall.

  1. Thank you David for your sharing with us this A.M. The pics Reynold
were amazing. They certainly needed all of the laborers mentioned
    in the text today.
Your personal words David on waiting for God’s timing to fulfill His
promises in our lives touched my heart today. Our God always has
purpose when He asks us to wait and He wastes nothing, in every
circumstance where He asks us to wait and be patient for His timing.
In every instance God proves His faithfulness to us and over the
years our trust in Him grows. Our responsibility is to respond to His
ability to accomplish His perfect will, in His perfect timing in our lives.
I thank Him now for Hos faithfulness in my life.
May God give you strength David and wisdom as you continue to
encourage so many of us each day with your blog. I appreciate it
    daily.
Blessings on all fellow bloggers today. “This is the day our Lord has
made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.”. Praise God from Whom ALL
    BLESSINGS flow. Amen!!!

  2. Waiting on Gods timing requires believing all is right for now. It was facinating to read the work, detail and co-operation involved in the building of Solomon’s Temple! Reynolds picture gives some perspective to the detail and work involved. Interesting that much of the stonework was finished before reaching the temple site for assembly, and the workers worked in shifts of one month and three months off. Have a great day of worship to all bloggers!

  3. Yes, good teaching, David have patience for the fulfillment of God’s promises in our lives. Will pray for your Dad, Diane. May God give him a good recovery.

    • Thank you Ger,
      We keep praying.
The doctors are performing another brain scan on monday to see if they is any difference from the earlier one.
It was mentioned the medication can give a false reading.

God Bless you Ger, and fellow bloggers.

      Diane

  4. Another wonderful day of blessings from God’s word and thank you once again David for our daily blog and your words of wisdom for each of us.
The pictures are amazing …… thank you Reynold.

I read Psalm 27 every day, as I need to be remember that patience in waiting for God’s timing is crucial for me and my family. Even though we have to wait, we still see God at work in our lives and know that He is a constant as we study and pray to The Most High God.

Diane will be praying for your dad and the next test and pray he will sense the presence of God with him. Also for you Ger as you wait for your next heart test.
Beverlee trust you are having a pain free day, but if not that God will ease it somewhat. Blessings fellow bloggers and David once again thank you and my prayers for your health and for Norma-Jean will remain a constant too.

  5. I also wish to extend my appreciation to Reynold for the wonderful pictures. I know it will be unlikely that I will ever be able to afford a trip to the Holy Land, so these pictures linked to the Scripture that speaks about these sites, is the next best thing to being there. Some times we all have a talent that we don’t think means much, but look how blessed so many people have been by something as simple as a photograph. God is so good.

  6. Thank you fellow bloggers for your comments. Psalm 33:20 says We wait for Yahweh; He is our help and our shield, Isa. 40 31 says They who wait upon the will renew their strength they shall mount on wings like eagles, they shall run and go weary they shall walk and not faint. God Bless!

  7. Thank you Pastor David for your exhortation from Psalm 27: 13 and 14, to wait on the Lord. In another translation it reads: “Wait patiently for the Lord”.
Thinking of a family circumstance where I have been praying for, I confess I would like to have that prayer answered NOW.
    Prayers, and God bless!

  8. Thankyou David .D. for your very interesting blog ,and Renoldfor your photo’s

  9. Thankyou David for these Daily Blogs. Thankyou also Norma Jean and your two sons for all the work they do in helping you. We pray for your health each day. Our Heavenly Father and the Holy Spirit and Jesus are all working on that so we know it will happen when it is the right time. Meanwhile be assured that we will be praying for you and yours.

  10. Dear Mr. Mainse:
Thank you for posting your daily blogs and the amazing pictures you are sharing with us. A few days ago, you mentioned the Circle Square ranches. My comment is about the Circle Square t.v. show that ran years ago. I think it would be wonderful to re-air those Circle Square programs for the new generation of children. The show was great!!!

  11. God’s promises are tried and true, He never forgets nor forsakes those whom He loves. We need only to believe on Him in hope and in trust, He will supply our need. Here’s hoping that all my blog partners had a blessed Sunday!
