Key Verse: Exodus 33:15

Then he said to Him, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here…”

How did Moses know that God’s presence was with him? First of all, God promised that “My Presence will go with you and give you rest” (31:14). Moses was so very human. God had just promised His Presence, and now Moses uses that little word “if.” God gives grace in spite of our unbelief. Secondly, God allows Moses to experience His Glory. The Word comes first and then the experience. All we really need is His Word. He says to us, “I am with you always” (Matt. 28:20). This is His promise to us at all times. He also says, “Where two or three are gathered together in My Name, I am there in the midst of them” (Matt. 18:20). These are two statements from Jesus personally. He cannot lie. We should not require more proof. Nevertheless, Jesus, with great grace, promises He is “confirming His Word with accompanying signs. Amen” (Mark 16:20).

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

I praise and worship You, Lord God, for Your Presence. If You don’t go with me, I won’t go anywhere. I know according to Your Word that You are with me. Therefore, I will boldly move into this new day and into the rest of my life with excitment, knowing that You will work all things after the counsel of Your will (Ephesians 1:11).

100 PERSONAL WORDS:

I was waiting on God during a week of fasting and prayer about 10 years ago. I would show up in the Chapel early each morning to petition God for His directions concerning the ministry of Crossroads Christian Communications Inc. While I was at the front, I could not help but notice that my son Ron would slip in and kneel at the back each morning. Always I would think of Joshua who was there with Moses every day in the tent of meeting. “…Joshua…did not depart from the tabernacle.” Joshua was there faithfully. It’s obvious why Joshua was to occupy a place of leadership. Today Ron has been named by our CEO and the Board as “Spiritual Director” for both Crossroads Ministry and the TV Network , CTS. Thanks Ron for all your help in making this blog available.

Yours to help us all to know God’s will through His Word,

David

Thankyou again David for this blog. Before I was reading daily by myself, but joining this blog is like I am in a study group and it generates much more energy.

  5. Congratulations to Ron! He has big shoes to fill but he is most capable and we shall continue to be blessed by his leading the same as we were and still are with yours David. What a poignant memory of Ron being a Joshua to you and still standing there for and with you.

  6. God still goes with His people. I believe that the latest initiative of Crossroads Christian Communications Inc. will penetrate the internet in such a way as to draw those whom He will back from the lure of the forces of darkness in the realm of pornography. Hallelujah! The light of Jesus Christ does penetrate the darkness. I have experienced it when I was in the mission field of China.

  7. Hi David, How wonderful that Moses face reflected the glory of God for all to see.Recently a group of people went to an immersion of saturating themselves in the Healing Scriptures, every day someone was healed and the excitement was electrifying. Some of their faces shone and their eyes sparkled with that sparkle we often see when people have done nothing other than to seek Gods face . Where was this you may ask…Africa?……No…..It was right here in Toronto!!!! P.T.L.

  8. “And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength”. Mark 12:30.

  9. Thank you Mr. Mainse, for your encouraging blog, and congratulations and blessings to your son, Ron, in his appointment as Spiritual Director!
