The Temple of Edfu is an ancient Egyptian temple located on the west bank of the Nile in the city of Edfu. It is the second largest temple in Egypt after Karnak and one of the best preserved. The temple, dedicated to the falcon god Horus, was built in the Ptolemaic period between 237 and 57 BCE.

Key Verse: Genesis 42:9

Then Joseph remembered the dreams which he had dreamed about them, and said to them, “You are spies! You have come to see the nakedness of the land!”

Years had passed since Joseph shared with his father and brothers his dream of being a ruler and of them bowing down to him. Joseph had gone through really rough times: the pit, slavery, false accusations, prison. But through it all, he never forgot the dream and he was confident that God had not forgotten either. The message to us is this – God has a plan for our lives. He has not forgotten you. Jeremiah wrote, “I know the thoughts I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me, and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you” (Jeremiah 29:11 & 12). Paul wrote, “All things work together for good to them that love God, to them that are called according to His PURPOSE” (Romans 8:28).

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Once again Lord, I ask that I will think Your thoughts. I want only what You want. Therefore, please grant me the gift of Your chosen future for me, and like Joseph, for all my family too. I pray this in the Name of Jesus, the One who knew clearly His future and was obedient, even to the “point of death, even the death of the cross” (Philippians 2:8). Amen!

100 PERSONAL WORDS:

Like Jacob (Israel), I too love and desire the best for my children. You see the daily photos by my oldest son, David Reynold, and I want to commend my youngest son also. Ronald Wesley helps me daily with this blog by making sure the technical procedure of posting the blog is correct. I’m not really computer savvy. Ron is up before 6 a.m. to read the Word and pray in preparation for hosting, along with his wife Ann, the 100 Huntley Street daily telecast which goes live to air at 9 a.m. Monday to Friday. Ron serves as the “Spiritual Director” for the Ministry of Crossroads Christian Communications Inc. and also of the TV network, Crossroads Television System Inc. You may be interested in checking out www.crossroads.ca and www.ctstv.com. Also, Ron wrote an article in June’s Crossroads Compass Magazine. I think you’ll find it most interesting as to how God gave him the dream for his life (you can view the June 2012 issue of the Compass by clicking here).

Yours for God’s thoughts being our thoughts,

David

  1. God calls us each by name and has a plan for our lives. Joseph’s life is a wonderful example of how God had a perfect plan for him, although earlier on in his life this plan was difficult to decipher. Our lives can be difficult to decipher as well with so many paths, detours, dead ends, opened doors etc., we may set our goals, but God will ultimately lead us. Worry, anxiety and stress will only sap your energy and vitality; it’s ideal to give your life to the Lord and let him work out the consequences. Rest in Jesus, put your faith in Him and He will do a marvelous work in your life that you wouldn’t even imagine. Once again, Psalm 55:22 is on my heart .. “Give your burdens to the Lord and He will take care of you, He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.”

    • Jim Randall:In my experience, I agree that dearms are rare. I seldom think about my dearms being from God, because the ones I have had (that were from Him) had different implications that, at the time, were not obvious (to me).I believe most are from random events of the day mixed with issues that are going on in our lives.I’m glad that God can speak/communicate through dearms because it may be the only way I can’t mess it up. I think

  2. Good Morning David, love todays picture…..and Read, if we be patient, He will bring it all together after He gets us ready for the journey He has planned, the trials and just life in general can be tough, but he is with us through it all, as we hang on to the Living Words of Jesus and lean back in the Everlasting Arms, He is Faithful…Come Lord Jesus ..Come quickly….
    Have a great and wonderful son/sun filled day…..see you soon..maybe in the air …eh !!! (^_^)

  3. Good morning David.
A few days ago you had written that 99% of dreams, are just that dreams.

This has been on my mind ever since. Reason being, many of my dreams
    happen.

In the beginning I ignored them. Then 10 years ago, I decided to start taking
note of my dreams and to my surprise they were very detailed and eventually
    would come to pass.

Of course some dreams are just that, fun dreams, and have no value.
Like when I dream Stephen Tylor is driving my car and I am riding shotgun.

I do think you are right, we cannot depend on our dreams to guide our
life, but when one of my dreams, happen, I no longer feel fear, I feel I
truly am on the right path and the Holy Spirit is guiding my life.

I used to pray and ask God to take away the dreams, as they frightened me.
    Now, they comfort me.

Thanks for the blog on Joseph.
Jesus is the same, yesterday, today and forever.

    Praise God.

    Kathy

  4. Back and caught up after a couple day’s off line. David, it doesn’t hurt to let other’s know when you disagree with unacceptable behaviour.

  5. “The Lord God of your fathers make you a thousand times so many more as ye are, and bless you, as he hath promised you.” Deuteronomy. 1:11.
“You are Christ’s, you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Galatians 3:29. AND SO IT IS!
