Key Verse: 2 Samuel 6:14-15
Then David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was wearing a linen ephod. So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet.
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Lord God, I ask for healing of hurts from the past. I ask for a greater measure of joy and for freedom to express that joy before You in my worship of You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen!
100 PERSONAL WORDS:
I’ve been thinking of the words of Isaiah which Jesus read from the scroll when He announced His mission before His hometown congregation (Isaiah 61:1 & Luke 4:18). As I meditated on the messed-up relationship between David and Michal, I’ve been feeling sad. Now, however, I’m starting to rejoice as I read Isaiah and Luke. Jesus declared that the Spirit of the Lord has “sent Me to heal the brokenhearted” and “to set at liberty those who are oppressed.” Yes! Yes! I’ve seen Jesus do this again and again. Jesus is our “Ark.” He is the manifest presence of God in our lives. In fact, I’m thinking of two married couples I know well whose hearts were broken. Recently I sat in a restaurant with one of these couples and heard these words from both husband and wife: “Jesus has healed us so powerfully that we love each other more than ever before.” Only Jesus can do that. Jesus changes everything! Rejoicing fills my being as I think about Jesus. I have 3 great-grandchildren here in our home just now. Their ages are 6, 3, and 6 months. When they wake up around 7 a.m., I’ll ask them to dance with me. They’ll be more ready to dance than most adults. I’ll try to explain to them why such joy fills my heart and why I want to dance.
Yours for expressing the joy of the Lord!
David
P.S. Norma-Jean showed me her facebook link to Budapest, Hungary. Here is a dance of joy from their celebration of Jesus’ resurrection. They call this a “Flash Mob.” To think that just over 20 years ago, their communist government was trying their best to eradicate faith in God from all Hungarian people. I say to all killjoy atheists, Give up! You’ll never win! (click here) Celebrate Jesus!

Wow! Thanks for the flash mob link, David, and your message about the love of Jesus saving marriages. Praise God for sending us Jesus–who was anointed, to preach the gospel to the poor, heal the brokenhearted, proclaim liberty to the captives and those who are oppressed, recovery of sight to the blind, and to free from prison those who are bound. Isaiah 61:1; Luke 4:18. It’s all because of Jesus that we are free. For without His love, we know not how to love, as David’s poor behaviour and attitude in this verse displayed; and David and Micah’s ruined relationship was example of.
May we all praise His glorious name as we celebrate and worship Him in open display in our churches, today! Enjoy dancing with your great-grandchildren, David! God Bless you and fellow saints!!!!
Amen Beverlee! Great words! Have a blessed day in the Lord’s House.
Good word David and Beverlee.

Negative ‘baggage’ from our past sure can mess up our present and future if not dealt with. Thank You Jesus, for your healing to each who come to you to be set free from these chains.
Have a wonderful time dancing with your great grandchildren David! 😀
Psalm 118:24 ”
This is the day the Lord has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it.”
The Lord counts every tear
and listens to every word unspoken.
He stands by every fear
and heals every heart that is broken.
His presence in every trouble is never by chance,
so every soul rejoice and everybody dance
For the Lord is near, the Lord is hear.
A poem I just wrote inspired by today’s words– Amen.
Awesome, Donna! Amen, sister!
Donna thank you for the poem!
thanks david for all your great work. harold
Hi David, We experienced a wonderful time of worship this morning, it was enough to make you feel like getting up and dancing and twirling like David did in praise to our great God. Michal just didn’t get it did she! She was much more concerned about how things looked rather than the celebration of David’s heart at the tremendous event of bringing the Ark of the covenant to Jerusalem where it belonged! The scripture says her sinful reaction penalized her from the honour of ever bearing a child in the line of David, which is of course is also the line of our Saviour Jesus. At one time l might have reacted like Michal but praise the Lord, l recognized this spirit and with the help of others, l,m Free!!!!
WOW! That was amazing!!! I hope the great grandchildren enjoyed the dance this morning with you David. My grandkids love it when I “dance” with them. They are so precious!!!!
God is Good ………………….All the Time!!!! PTL Hallelujah!!!
Dear David,
I wrote you a message on Sat. and forgot to sign my name; I am wondering if you figered out who wrote it. You are making the Old Testament much more likable, miracles happen all the. My son David will be calling later, he will be more surprised that I got up the nerve to try sending you a message .
Love the flash mob dance!!!
I was interested to see that today’s Scripture is part of this week’s traditional Torah readings, as part of ‘Shemini’ or the eighth day of Passover.
