Key Verse: Deuteronomy 27:26
Cursed is the one who does not confirm all the words of this law by observing them. And all the people shall say, “Amen!”
It is understood that the laws to be written on the stones erected after crossing into the Promised Land were only those found here in Deuteronomy 27. To write all the laws of Moses in this way would be impossible. Whitewashing the stones and then writing on them, possibly with charcoal, would not be permanent as would engraving in the stones, as was the case of the Ten Commandments. Jesus gave us two laws which sum up all the law. First, love God, and second, love our neighbour as ourselves (Luke 10:27). When the young man came to Jesus to ask about eternal life (Matt. 19:16-22), Jesus said, “Keep the commandments.” The young man replied, “Which ones?” Jesus gave only six, and then went directly to the heart of the young man. Jesus said, “Sell what you have and give to the poor.” This revealed what was written on the heart. What commandments are written, not on tables of stone, but on our hearts (2 Cor. 3:3). Let’s meditate on this throughout today. Amen!
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Lord God, write on my heart your Word, I pray. Grant me the grace to love You more, and to express this love by loving my neighbour more. In Jesus’ Name I ask these mercies. Amen!
100 PERSONAL WORDS:
Throughout my childhood, I thought I understood that unless I kept certain rules, I was not going to Heaven when I died. By the time I was 15, I had given up on keeping the rules. Then at 16, in December of 1952, in a high school auditorium, I went forward at the invitation of an Evangelist. An older man opened his Bible and asked me to read John 6:37. I read the words of Jesus, “Him that comes to Me I will in no way cast out.” The man said, “You’ve come to Jesus, right?” I answered, “Yes.” Then the man said, “What does Jesus do when you come to Him?” I answered, “He receives me!” Instantly, I knew that my salvation was not about keeping certain rules, but about believing that Jesus would not lie, and that His Word is true. At that moment, I was transformed; I became a new creation; I was born into a new life in Jesus! I’ve just paused to sing the song, “Tell me the story of Jesus, write on my heart every Word” (Click here to sing along). My heart is filled with joy.
Yours for our hearts to be filled with Jesus!
David

Standing in awe of the incredible depth and breadth of God we grow and move toward self completion. Not knowing the depth of God’s expanse, we do know it is beyond our imagination, keeping us humble, giving us strength, extending our love enabling us to grow in grace. Through knowledge in every situation “By grace are you saved through faith” and “My grace is sufficient for thee” there is more than enough. God’s faithful Love abides forever..
Beautifully stated Connie, thank you!
Lovely prose, Connie.
Thank you David (and staff) for these daily posts. I look forward each morning reading them… Coffee in one hand and iPad on the other. Not only do I get fed with God’s Word but I also get to see some fabulous relevant pictures AND where they were taken.
God’s blessing on ALL the activities you participate in to make the ‘Invisible Christ Visible’
My prayer is the same as yours David
That is a wonderful song to sing and listen to

“Tell me the story of Jesus, write on my heart every word”. What glorious hymn! Thank you for sharing it with us today David.
I’ve noticed that “Hell” is little spoken of in the church today. I’m not sure if it’s because clergy are worried it will scare newcomers into not returning, or if perhaps they themselves are uncomfortable dealing with it’s theology. At any rate, God has given us all the freedom to choose a path in this life. I wouldn’t say that most choose “Hell” and willingly follow Satan, for most are ignorant of any sort of knowledge of the scriptures or their truth. But rather they condemn themselves already, through hardened hearts and a lack of willingness to seek-out and to know the truth. (In Romans chapter 1:18-23 Paul reflects this rather well in his writings). Hell has no fear to the Christian, for once we come to Jesus and are enlightened by His love we are His forever and can rejoice as David Mainse did when asked what work Jesus did in his heart, and David replied “He receives me!”. Notice that David didn’t reply “He receives me?” for he knew who his Saviour was and he he still has that continual assurance even now, today, that Jesus will be forever with him. Most of the bloggers hear are Christians I believe, but if you’re not a Christian and you want to know the Lord personally and to know that you know that you are going to heaven when you die, why not check out this page to discover more about how you can know Jesus :

In the two commandments that sum up all others, we are told to first love God and then to love others as ourselves. It has been impressed upon me lately … the ‘IS’ in God is Love, and the ‘AS’ in loving others as ourselves. Christ changes us from within and persuades all of His love and acceptance, if only we open our hearts and minds. I pray for all readers and bloggers, that throughout all the good and bad news in 2013, we will endure by keeping Christ in the centre of our lives, with gratitude and adoration. I pray too, for your continued strength David, and all those who support you in bringing us the good news each and every day as we journey your 100 Words (or more) Blog. Thank you!
Beautiful song David. Thank you for this link. I had never heard this one before! I too, pray for every word to be written in my heart, (and will one day be written in the hearts of those I love.) Thank you Scott for providing the link you did. (Though I am a long time Christian, I took a look.)
Thankyou
Thank you for sharing another excellent message today, David–knowing you were received by Jesus when you gave your life to Him, believing in Him as the Truth and the Way, and simultaneously being transformed and made into a new creation through Him! It is so encouraging to witness you as a living example of the promise of His Word, and to be guided by you, to become the same.
O love the LORD, all you His godly ones!
The LORD preserves the faithful
And fully recompenses the proud doer.
Be strong and let your heart take courage,
All you who hope in the LORD.
Psalm 31:23,24 NASB
Amen!!
Beautiful hymn!!
