But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.
Believe it! Jesus prayed for Peter, and He prays for us too. “Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He ever lives to make intercession for them (Heb. 7:25).” What confidence we have in His intercession! The Lord Jesus was fully aware that Peter was about to deny Him, to curse and swear that he does not even know Him. So how does Jesus respond to Peter – in anger and bitterness? Not at all. The Lord looked beyond Peter’s failure to his repentance, his faith restored, and his bold leadership. He knew that in just 50 days, Peter would be filled with the Holy Spirit and would preach a powerful message on the street to thousands. Jesus has a plan for each one of us. He sees restoration following failure. Never give up! Repent and move forward. Judas gave up after his failure. Peter and Judas – which example will we follow?
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Dear Lord, I confess my failure. Just as You saw Peter’s tears and witnessed his repentance, even so I repent and I am confident that You pray for me that my faith will not fail. I receive, by faith, Your forgiveness and restoration. I’m ready to start again in my service for You. Fill me with Your Spirit I pray. I praise You. I worship You. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! I am continuing to exalt Your Holy Name…….
100 PERSONAL WORDS:
I identify with Peter. He tried to help by attacking the servant of the High Priest. He tried by following Jesus into a place where he could see Jesus standing before the High Priest. He failed to stand up for Jesus when Jesus needed him most. He went out into the darkness and wept bitterly over his failure. But! How I thank God for His mercy and grace. Peter saw Jesus crucified, buried, and alive from the dead. How else could anyone explain Peter’s transformation. He became as bold as a lion, filled with the Holy Spirit, and filled with the Word of God. I know 100% for sure that Jesus is alive. I’ve been filled with the Spirit as the followers of Jesus were 50 days after Peter’s denial. Now, all I have to do is open my mouth and share Jesus wisely and boldly with others. He who prays for me will help me.
Yours for a clear, thoughtful, sometimes gentle, sometimes strong, witness for Jesus,

That’s the thing about Jesus, He never gives up on us. He wants us to know there is a way to truth and to life and it’s in Him. He wants His children to know Him personally. Repenting of sin and coming to an alive faith in our Lord empowered Peter’s witness to Jesus. With the aid of the Holy Spirit we can still be empowered to be a witness for Jesus today.
Having witnessed others put to death by cruel and brutal means under accusations running afire by the authorities, Peter seemed momentarilly caught up in his fear and denial of our Lord. The crowing rooster brought home the reality of God’s presence and overwhelmed him. I pray in todays world, such times will enable me to conquer any fear and denial, that my life would reflect my love for Christ and God’s love for all.
We will continue to pray for your strength and health as
you remain bold in your wonderful daily witness, David.

Good morning David, While l was reading about Peter’s ordeal in the courtyard and how difficult it was to stay incognito, the fear welling up in him to the point of denying the one he loved so deeply,l couldn,t help but stop for a minute and pray for our elected officials, especially those who are Born-Again Christians who find themselves afraid to go against the Bills that are clearly wrong and not for the good of the people at all e.g. voting a yes for Casinos to come to so many communities,causing so much family disasters as addiction takes hold and hard earned money is lost for the families involved. Let’s remember to hold them up in prayer as they serve us, and remember to ask God to strengthen them and help them serve with integrity.
Thank you God for never giving up on us , for interceding for me and teaching
me how to intercede for others.

Yes, we are strengthened in the power of Jesus’ prayers for us. Let us be faithful and courageous in standing up for Jesus while there is still time. We have the perfect opportunity today! Please pray and act wih regard to Motion 312 (humanity of unborn child). Parliament members will have final vote tomorrow (Sept. 26). Contact your local MP and Prime Minister Stephen Harper – urge them to vote in favour of this motion. Lest we hear the rooster crow as we once again deny Jesus!
