Key Verse: John 11:25
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live…”
It’s natural to fear death as it remains filled with the unknown. Nevertheless, we can say with Job, “I know that my Redeemer lives” (Job 19:25). People everywhere are filled with despair when they contemplate their death because they think of it as the final reality. Jesus exploded that myth and opened the doors for us to see the triumph, the joy, the celebration that is ours through believing in Him. This is the message that our dying world needs to hear. To move forward into the Church and to discover where we come into the resurrection picture, please read the entire chapter of 1 Corinthians 15.
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Lord Jesus, thank You for weeping over the loss of Lazarus. You are there for me when I mourn. Please give me grace to live with the secure knowledge that I need not fear death. Please enable me to weep with those who weep, bringing to all the comfort with which I am comforted. Amen!
100 PERSONAL WORDS:
I’ve spoken the words of our key verse at many graves. Without fail, I think on those occasions, “This could be the moment of Christ’s return,” as is written in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. After Norma-Jean and I sold her birthplace farm, we wanted to take all of our children and grandchildren to visit my family roots. To do this, we rented a bus (it had the seats around the sides rather than behind each other). What a great time of family fellowship we had as we visited significant sites from my childhood. One stop we made was at the cemetery in the little village of Elgin, Ontario, where we visited the graves of my ancestors on my father’s side, right back to my great-great-grandmother. Of course, I had stories about them all. Then I did something which shocked my children and grandchildren. You may think this was morbid, but I wanted to make the point that we need not fear death. I laid down on the spot where, if Jesus does not come first, my body will be buried. I could not help but notice some shocked looks on faces around me. Then, those looks gave way to laughter. We rejoiced in our faith that this will not be my final state. Norma-Jean’s plot is beside mine. She informed everyone that she believes Jesus will return before she needs it. She made it clear that she does not intend to use that plot! She often says, “I’m looking for the ‘upper-taker,’ not the undertaker!”
Yours for life in this world and in the world to come,
David

Thank you David for the new store link. Blessings brothers and sisters…
Praise God for the new link, Christianbooks for 100 Huntley St. Blessings everyone.
How sad about Jesus weeping. I haven’t read any scripture of Jesus laughing but He’s probably laughing now.
Just finished a great book called Love & Respect by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs, directed toward married couples or relationships. Even if couples aren’t Christian it will still help them. In my humble opinion, unless a person is demon-possessed, this book of knowledge will save their marriage. All couples should be given this book as a wedding gift.
The pic today is so morbid looking to me. I want to be cremated and my ashes scattered in God’s beautiful wilderness, but God will find us no matter where we sleep in Jesus.
Praying for the election of the right person for the job in Toronto today.
God bless.
I agree with Norma-Jean…I’m looking up for the Upper-taker…not the down for the “under-taker” …I like that saying!!
Thank you Pastor David for the added scriptures. That truth is a great encouragement, and assurance of our place in Jesus Christ Our Lord. We live in Him now and forever.
Thank you Reynold for that vivid picture of the Tombs of sons of Heriz.
I looked up the scripture, but could not tell whether Heriz was of the line of Eleazar or Ithamar. Of course, they were all of the Line of Aaron.
Thank you David and yes I will be looking for the upper taker
That is an interesting way of saying it Norma Jean
My husband has to make a decision tomorrow – whether to take chemotherapy or not. His blood does not have Factor B positive, which is required to be able to take a new, promising drug for melanoma cancer. There are spots on his liver and his lymph nodes are affected. At this point, we don’t know what is best. The doctor originally said he would not want Ross to have chemo. Please pray for us. Thank you.
May God be with you both tomorrow and be Master of your decision Doreen.
A difficult process. Adding my prayers for wisdom and healing, Doreen.
I’ll pray that God will guide and also comfort you both, best wishes.
Lord I pray that the only decision for Doreen ‘s husband to make is to rejoice because his Cancer is gone in the name of Jesus Christ, the Great Doctor, cancer is gone, celebrate and rejoice in the Lord. Blessings
Yes, help Doreen and her husband to make the right decision, according to your will and give them peace about it, in Jesus precious name, Amen
After having decided to become a partner financially with 100 Huntley Street, I had the form and the void cheque all ready to go in a stamped envelope. I brought it along with me to mail after I attended a Ladies Meeting at a local cafe. During the meeting a women gave her testimony. She began it by saying, “I got saved watching T.V….I was watching 100 Huntley Street.” My heart soared as I realized that God was confirming my decision to support your ministry with a real live testimony that the ministry is effective. It was a joy to mail my donation. Now I am not just a spectator, I’m a participant. I’ve been blessed already. God be with you all as you bring in the harvest.
