Key Verse: Isaiah 25:8
He will swallow up death forever,
And the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces;
The rebuke of His people
He will take away from all the earth;
For the Lord has spoken.
Isaiah 23 pronounces judgement. Tyre, the hometown of Jezebel, daughter of the King of Tyre and the Queen who introduced Baal worship to Israel, is to be destroyed. Today the site of Tyre is a barren wasteland on the coast of Lebanon. There are no houses and no harbour for the ships of Tarshish (Spain). Sidon is a flourishing city today.
Isaiah 24 gives us a description of some of the results of the separation of creation from its Creator because of the rebellion of men and women to whom God gave responsibility for the care of the earth. Isaiah 24:19-20 describes a scene like the one in the photograph above. “The earth is violently broken…the earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard.”
Isaiah 25 is filled with hope for mankind. God is never left without a plan for restoration. He is our strength, our refuge from the storm, and our shade! “The Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces!” How gentle and caring He is to those who “have waited for Him” (25:8-9)!
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Lord God, rebellious people and nations have brought disaster upon themselves, but as for me, I wait for You and You have promised Your help in time of trouble. I pray for the grace of waiting patiently for You! I ask this in and through the Name of Your Son and my Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen!!!
100 PERSONAL WORDS:
I’ve walked over the barren rocks where proud Tyre once stood. I’ve walked through the streets of Sidon and laughed with the children playing out in front of high-rise apartment buildings. The tragedy was that the terrorists stored their bombs in the basements of these buildings, knowing that the Israelis would never deliberately bomb childen. It’s all so very sad. The tears God will wipe away are not from self pity, but from the tragedy of human cruelty. May God have mercy on us all!
In the photo below, my son David Reynold, an ordained Minister and our professional photographer, is showing a minor example of Isaiah 24:19, “The earth split open!” Click here for one of Reynold’s reports after returning from Haiti following the earthquake.
Yours for shedding tears and giving sacrificially!
David

A young family member is in Haiti now with a mission for 10 weeks. It is her first time away from home. Please pray for her that she will be a blessing and for her mom and dad missing her for the first time.
The moment when one years ends and new year begins may seem like a simple matter of counting down seconds and yelling Happy New Year, but we forget how much of God’s Grace is in that moment, a moment which allows all of us fresh slate to start with, a moment full of hope and potential, where everything that was can be forgotten and everything that might be, could be. It is a sacred moment, let us not forget that tonight as we celebrate the occasion.
Wishing all of you a safe, productive and blessed 2014. May you experience the awesome presence of our Lord everyday and may His joy follow you all your days. May the blessings that belong to you in Christ be realized and your faith be increased in abundant and unexpected ways. Amen.
A new year is before us – 2014… May our Lord Jesus renew our hearts, minds, and souls with his love, his wisdom, and his blessings as we set sail on a new and wondrous voyage of discovery in 2014…
Praise God!
Amen!
Amen!
YEAR 2014
To a year filled with inspiration, the building of bridges and tearing down of walls, blessing others, and gratitude for the eternal hope for which we have in Christ Jesus !!!
Praise God! Let us give thanks for the ending of this year and for all blessings, which have been bestowed upon us. This blog has been a saving and uplifting grace in my life and I thank you David, Norma-Jean, Reynold, Kathy, Ron, Ann, and everyone behind the ministry scenes at Crossroads! May we raise our banner high in the new year, declare our love for Jesus and spread the Word to others about His loving Kingdom. Glory be to God in the highest!!!
O yes, Lord, You are our God! We exalt You, and praise Your holy name on high! You have done wonderful things! Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth! We glorify and fear you, Lord. We love the truth and hate sin and evil. We embrace the good of You and dispel the negativity in the world. We hold to Your word and loving mercy. You are a strength to the poor and those in distress; a refuge from the storm and shade from the heat. We need only call out to You for help and pray to claim aid and comfort through scripture. For You cover us with Your feathers and shelter us with Your wings. Your faithful promises armor and protect us. We trust in You to wipe away our tears when we face sorrows. We rejoice in knowing we have eternal life because of Your sacrifice on the cross for us. Your blood washes away and cleanses our sin. Let us be glad and rejoice in our salvation.
With strength from heaven, we are limitless, indeed! Let us bring about incredible changes around us in 2014. Happy New Year and God’s continued blessings dear fellow saints!
Amen, Beverlee. Thank you Judy for your prayers from yesterday. “…forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before. I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus…Nevertheless, whereunto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.”(Phil. 3:13b, 14, 16). Anticipating the future with glorious expectation with all of you. Amen. A big thank you, David, Norma-Jean, Reynold, Kathy, Ron, Ann and 100 Huntley St. team, and dear fellow bloggers for all your input and prayers. What a journey through 2013!
