DON’T WORRY – BE HAPPY!
Today’s Reading: Matthew 6

Key Verse: Matthew 6:33 (NKJV)
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Today’s blog title is from a popular Jamaican song. Perhaps “Be Joyful” would be better, as happiness depends on happenings. You may want to read again Matthew 6:25-33.
Joy depends on your faith that Jesus is present. The Apostle Paul, in Philippians 4:11, shared, “I have learned in whatsoever state I am, there to be content.” Being content has nothing to do with material possessions. Knowledge of God’s love and care is enough. Put God first. He’ll provide employment, business opportunities and Good Samaritans when in trouble. All things we really need will come our way. Trust God. He won’t fail you!
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Lord God I pray for health, strength and ambition to do my part and to seek Your daily blessings. I am resolved to trust You for my every need. I ask these mercies in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
100 PERSONAL WORDS:
I was 20 years old. Taking a year off from my theological studies to help establish a new congregation seemed like a good idea. I had determined to spend full time in door-to-door evangelism, teaching God’s Word to children, helping needy people cut and pile wood for heat, and cooking for the coming winter, etc., but I had no regular income. One morning I put cornflakes in my bowl but had no money to buy milk. A couple of spoonfuls of dry cornflakes and I had a full-blown “pity party.” I recovered sufficiently to pray and felt I should walk to the Post Office. The clerk handed me one letter, and guess what? Someone blessed me with $5.00. Milk and even brown sugar sure tasted good on my cereal. Yes, later that year I worked in construction and even as a supply teacher in public school. Everything I truly needed was supplied. God is faithful. He never fails!
Written with love & prayer,
David
Thank you for that personal example, David. Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all will be provided–amen! Be content in whatever your situation for God is with you and is your joy. Paul was indeed the perfect example. Praise God for this message, this morning, and every day! It was exactly what I needed to be reminded of when I was having a pity party in the wee hours this morning. I am so thankful indeed!!! How Great Thou Art is ringing through my ears. Seems so fitting. Praising You oh Lord and ever so thankful!!!!!

How Great Thou Art Lyrics
Verse 1:
O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.
Chorus:
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!
Verse 2:
When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.
Chorus
Verse 3:
And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.
Chorus
Verse 4:
When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,
And then proclaim: “My God, how great Thou art!”
Chorus

“O Lord, how great are Thy works!” Psalm 92:5
Yes, David the Lord does provide. Later, I can tell some of my stories. Your testimony of God’s provision really blesses me!
Amen brother and teacher David Mainse! Our precious Lord and Saviour is enough. He will provide what we need. May He bless the reading of His word. Amen!
Yes you are so right. God has proven himself so trustworthy over and over again. One of the best blessings I’ve been given is that I’ve had so many opportunities to teach this to my children through example. We have never been wealthy by society’s standards but we consider ourselves so blessed and wealthy beyond measure by God’s standards.
Amen!
Really enjoyed today’s study.
My mother used to tell me I could pray in a closet with the door shut and God would hear me. I was a touch doubtful in those days but now understand what she meant.
Forgiving others gets easier as we get older……guess it’s just practise.
Fasting for Jesus seems to have a dual purpose. Brings us closer to God and gives us great health.
Matthew 6:19-34 about treasures in Heaven and not worrying are such wise verses. They too take practise.
I second your Prayer for Today Rev. DM.
$5 was a lot of money when u were 20 years old Rev. So thankful it came along proving that God really does know our needs.
Blessings on us all this fine Spring day in the West.

I signed up a Muslim friend to this blog yesterday. He said he has read the bible but still doesn’t understand why we Christians say Jesus is the son of God. I then assured him that if he has read the whole bible and still doesn’t understand then he needs to start all over again and with the help of a blog like this, he will understand. He was a bit hesitant about signing up, so I asked him to give it a month, if he finds it helpful, he can continue, if not he can leave the blog. I pray by the grace of God, He will lead us all to answer His questions and save his soul before the end of that one month. May our God Lord make a way where their seem to be no way…Amen
Praying for your Muslim friend Patricia, and ht God will reveal Himself in. Miraculous way. Bless you for sharing. Cathetibe

Thank you Patricia.
God has proven to my family over and over again that He will supply our needs. He can be trusted fully. I was born at the end of the war and as a little girl in Scotland we were still using rationing coupons to buy things, but we always had what we needed. Praise God.
Blessings to all today and thank you Pastor David and family.
All through my life God has been faithful to supply all our needs as well as for my 6daughters which are now adults
praise God for all He has done and is going to do
God Bless all my blog buddies ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Dear Rev.David M

Gordon Sinclair was asked before he died if he had any regrets in life. He said the one thing he would do differently in life was not to worry so much about his future because 90% never happened and the other 10% he could deal with on a good nights sleep? Following Jesus not only takes faith but action on our part. His promises always hold true! Every time we make an effort to follow and subsequently experience His Truth in our lives, our faith and confidence grows stronger. Enjoy this day and His blessings, to all!
Hi David,
Thank you for your message this morning. Just wanted to let you know that
I’m with you again for another 2 year journey through the bible. I really enjoyed
the first 2 years and meeting you and Norma-Jean last November in Israel. I remember the Mount of Beatitudes very well and it really brings the Bible to life.
I would encourage all Blog readers to consider this trip if you can. It’s the trip of a lifetime!
Praise God, He does supply all our needs; we can trust Him, He is faithful
through the years, I have found it to be so. Thank your David for sharing.
I joined your blog about 2 months ago & am very thankful for it everyday. I am along for the 2 year journey through the Bible. Thank you for this wonderful blog!
