Key Verses: Acts 27:22 & 24b

And now I urge you to take heart, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only of the ship…….God has granted you all those who sail with you.

From time to time throughout 39 years of the daily 100 Huntley Street television ministry, we have featured “household salvation” based on Paul’s statement to the Philippian prison warden, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household” (Acts 16:31). As people began to pray with greater fervency for their loved ones, miracles have taken place. We have received reports of entire families accepting Jesus as their Saviour, and others where every week a new family member has come into Christ’s Kingdom. Now, in today’s reading, we see people being saved in a physical way. The same God who keeps His promises is at work. In a very real sense, “God has granted you all those who sail with you” (27:24b). It is our responsibility to live a Christ-like life, to speak to our family members with wisdom and love, and to pray continually for them. We must never, never give up. We can expect God to protect and save each one.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Lord Jesus, I pray for the protection and salvation of each of my family members by name… “_________”, and also for those I’ve spiritually adopted (names). I also pray for all others who “sail” with me. Keep each one in Your love and by Your power. Save each one. In Your name I pray, Lord Jesus. Amen!!!

100 PERSONAL WORDS:

At the close of thousands of letters I have written, I would have these words, “May the Lord keep you in His love and by His power. In Christ’s love and service, David Mainse.” I still do that because I believe with all my heart that there is a personal loving God who is “Not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9). When I knew Norma-Jean was expecting, I began to pray fervently for the salvation of each of our precious little ones. It would be the greatest tragedy, having been responsible for helping to bring my children into this world, for them to be lost eternally. How I rejoiced when they were still small to hear them pray to receive Jesus into their hearts. I know that their names were written in “the Book of Life” (Rev. 21:27). As I type this, I’ve taken the time to read, for additional scriptural input, the entire last chapter in the Bible, Revelation 22. Also, several times, as I’ve prayed this morning, the old hymn “Rescue the Perishing” has come from my lips. Ron knows how to find these old hymns on the Internet. I’ll ask him to do this before this is posted… [OK Dad, the link is HERE – Ron].

Yours for the salvation of our families and other loved ones,

David

  1. Dearest saints: May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.

  2. Thank You Lord, and bless Beverlee for her continual, faithful words of support and encouragement to us all. Thank You also for the faithfulness of each blog reader. Thank You for Ron and Ann, and all they do for Your kingdom. It is a joy and a privilege to be journeying through Your precious Word together. And thank You for the precious souls in our families, all who are sailing with us, for their salvation. Glory to Your Name!

  3. You are so beautiful, Deanna. Thank you, but, really, you and the rest of the saints, lead me.

Had to share this incredible article about new Alzheimer’s findings:
Have researchers been wrong about Alzheimer’s? A new theory challenges the old story. The protein that forms Alzheimer’s plaques might be trying to protect your brain against infection. I have shared a few key points:

What this could mean for how we fight Alzheimer’s disease. Moir said in the shorter term, instead of trying to break up the amyloid plaques in the brain, when it’s too late in the progression of the disease, he thinks a more effective way to treat Alzheimer’s is to target the inflammation the plaques cause. “For people with Alzheimer’s disease, that’s probably looking like the best hope.”

In the long term, Moir plans to try and identify exactly which microbes are responsible for triggering the cascade effect that leads to Alzheimer’s.

“You may be able to use anti-infectives or indeed vaccines to limit the chances that some microbe is going to get into your brain and trigger this whole thing,” said Moir. “That’s where the future sort of focus for us is going to be — and that is trying to work out what pathogens may be triggering it. And there’s gonna be more than one and that’s the bottom line on that.”

The link is a long one; hope it opens to the article in Quicks & Quirks: https://www.cbc.ca/radio/quirks/dec-8-2018-why-are-users-taking-fentanyl-making-stuff-with-moon-dust-an-app-to-detect-anemia-and-more-1.4935099/have-researchers-been-wrong-about-alzheimer-s-a-new-theory-challenges-the-old-story-1.4935121

      • I listened to to the whole interview from the link on that page.He has more work to do to change thinking but he may have another angle from which to attack this disease.God bless

        Forgive Myself

        Does God ever make mistakes,
Does He regret where He has led
When each step His child takes
Dries up the blood His Son has shed.

Now I fear I am now lost,
When I try to do what is right,
        For mistakes are the cost
But it’s His blood that wins my fight.

        So forgive myself I must,
For,if not, then in vain He died
And I would yield His trust,
Then they could say my Savoir lied.

So get back upon your feet
And know Satan is a liar
        Cast down in his defeat
To burn ever in hell fire.

        No,God never makes mistakes,
But His ways are above our own,
        So know,each child He makes
Is of the holy seed He’s sown.

  4. Dear saints:
I’ve just learned that a cousin of mine has been given days to live. I’m asking that you keep him and his family in prayer. Please pray especially for their salvation!

Thank you all and may God bless you richly!

  5. Loved the info on Alzheimers disease Beverlee. Thanks ever so much. I’m a health fanatic and love to hear all the health info God is willing to share with us mere mortals.
All my fellow bloggers are so appreciated for sharing their thoughts and life’s struggles. Praying for God’s numerous blessings on one and all who ask. We have not because we ask not is my favourite motto:-).

  6. Another great quote coming our way:-).

“The family is God’s invention and design for us (Genesis 1:28). But the devil hates all that God loves. If he can use technology to isolate children from their parents and infect them with pornography, violence, and digital addiction, he will.

Paul said of Satan, “We are familiar with his evil schemes” (2 Corinthians 2:11 NLT).”

  7. What a wonderful reading and blog this morning from Acts 27, the clincher for me. David has echoed my heart completely and closed with “Yours for the salvation of our family and loved ones.” Amen David in heaven. God spoke to me in my heartbreak from this chapter in ON in 1979 and I am still standing on His promises as He is not a man that He should lie. The whole scenario is just as real to me today as then. Thank you Jesus! What a sight to see all 276 men swimming or floating safely to shore; would make a great movie. Yours to the salvation of all your family and loved ones too saints. Thinking of the old song, “Standing on the Promises” that I used to sing in my home church. Miss these songs as they contained such clear doctrine and truth from the Word. Thank you Jesus, our hope!

  8. Wow! Just read all the posts above, thank you so much for them all the inspiration and valuable information. I am glad that I can share my heart on here too. Prayers for your cousin Luisa that he will open his heart and call on the Lord. Amen! God bless all who posted today!

  9. Enjoyed singing with the link “Rescue the Perishing” How true, Lord help me to
not be timid to share the Gospel of truth, and I pray you soften their hearts to receive salvation.

Apostle Paul never stopped to share that truth.

As the days to Christmas draw nearer; I pray we remember Who we are celebrating.!!

May the Peace that passes all understanding guard our heart and mind in Christ Jesus this day!!
